Beautiful but unfortunately most of the trails were covered in broken glass it seemed very unsafe/unpleasant for the kids and dogs

The GPS took us to a service road that says not to block the gate. We parked there and didn't block the gate obviously. Take the trail behind the gate, keep going up to the service tower to around the service tower until you get to a fork in the road take the middle path that leads up. The trail is light path a few rocks here and there but easily avoided. Lots of spiders though so there is that. Please respect the land and wildlife and do not leave behind garbage and graffiti.

Great spot, interesting structure with a nice view and can see the Pagoda on the other mountain. Too bad people are defacing and doing graffiti there. During my visit, some ppl said, excuse me we're about to do some graffiti on this structure. Strange. And the scent of the paint fumes made us leave sooner than we wanted as it was a nice place to rest, snack and meditate. I thought graffiti on nature was inappropriate and rude, but this was just as bad, selfish and disrespectful to an 1800s historical structure. Anyways, still worth the hike to get here. Beautiful wildflowers were in bloom too.

At the Neversink Loop trailhead. Just search Neversink Loop. It’s about a 1 mile hike to the Witches Hat

When you get to the small parking area, where do you go to get to the Witches hat?

Go up neversink mountain loop. Park in the small parking area. The parking area has a trail. But if you continue walking up the road on the left hand side is a yellow pole. Go up that trail leads right to witches hat.
