Very educational- a nice trip through time.

The museum itself was lackliuster. I think they need to blow up the interpretive displays. It's a lot of very little print to read. The actor playing the Capt was great and engaging and the tower at the top was cool. But that's about it. Granted, we were only there for a short time because we wanted to catch the 11 am fort tour and they didn't open until 930 and i was worried about time.

The museum is full of artifacts from numerous shipwrecks that were salvaged in key west. The highlight was a character who reenacted Asa Tift, an accomplished Key West wrecker. He brought history to life!

If you're into history this place is awesome! I would definitely go back again. The tower has an amazing view!

Not at the Shipwreck Museum however there's plenty of places around town that sell the plastic kids swords. If you're looking for an adult sized, realistic sword, there's a shop just two blocks from the museum called Fairvilla that carry great costumes including pirate paraphernalia. Be advised that they are also an adult toy store so if you have young ones tagging along with you, you may choose to leave them outside with another adult in your party or end up having to explain things you might not be ready to explain.
You should call them
