Hard to participate with GETTING IN, the way it's set up. Wait in line at 6PM Then hopefully you'll have a chance at 8PM to get a bunk...why not tell a person AT 6PM IF they HAVE the BUNK or not? Feel frustrated for the individual who has NO crash spot that is SAFE and GUARANTEED. Trial and error I guess. One day people will figure LIFE in the USA really IS worth gaining an EDUCATION and staying COMPLETELY SOBER. Don't give UP men...if at first you don't succeed, try try again. BE PREPARED.

No one watches their children the staff never follows through with the things they say their going to do and the place is always dirty

First I’d like to start by saying that I have been donating clothes, shoes, baby accessories including diapers and formula, childrens toys and many other items to this shelter for many years. I have also been homeless so I know the need that these people have for simple items. I have felt good after every donation drop off until today. I am absolutely horrified with the conditions of the parking lot, the play ground and just about every car in the parking lot had adults and children set up camp inside and outside of their cars. It was 90° outside. Children were walking everywhere in the street. There was garbage pilling up out of garbage cans and stuck to fences. garbage was flying around everywhere. The playground and the parking lot. I can’t even imagine what the inside of that place looks like! As I pulled up to the donation area, there was a man and a woman (clearly on drugs) RUMMAGING THROUGH THE DONATIONS!!!! I donate pretty decent clothing items and I will not be donating there EVER again! I did NOT feel safe and I’ve NEVER had this issue there before! Also after my awful experience today I decided to get on here to write a review. When I started reading the previous comments, It was very disheartening to read that most donation items do not actually go to the families in need. I normally don’t believe all reviews but when most of the reviews are all saying the same thing, something has to be wrong. Long story short, I will be donating my items to a shelter that is honest and has compassion for the families and doesn’t let them live in garbage with drug addicts.

Yes. Most families utilized and appreciate donations. The staff will even write you a receipt for tax purposes on your donations.
yes i believe so
Good Afternoon! Absolutely! We are accepting donations every day from 8am to 7pm. Thank you!
Yes, Stephen. Some of the residents are looking for jobs, or may be currently working, so nice dress clothes could further help them in confidence. The clothes that are donated are sometimes the only clothes that these people have.
You must have atleast one child with you to stay
Hi Tabitha! We ask that appointments are made at theroadhome.org for most donations. On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, we will not require appointments and you are welcome to drop by between 7am and 7pm to 529 West 7300 South. Thank you!
That i know items are still being collected and since you have done this kind of activity in the past there shouldn't be a problem. You can call ahead to let staff know you are coming and should have no worries.
Yes.
I believe they are open for donations from 8 am to 7 pm.
I know a family of 5 that stayed at the road home and they helped them with housing. They stayed there for about 4 months. First they assign you with a case worker that you have to meet with at least once a week. The case worker is located on site so it's convenient for you. They want to make sure that you are employed or have an adequate source of income to obtain and sustain housing. Once you get approved for housing it's all up to you to choose where you want to live. They will pay at least 2 months of rent after you get approved for the house or apartment. After that you're on your own. I hope I explained this well enough for you 😀
That would be great. Somebody can always use some.
Yes but only if you're a resident of the facility you can go downtown to the weigan center and get a voucher there.
Yes it is a place that will help you and your child
Absolutely! Please bring them by.
Hi Alissa! With this location, we are limited on space for guests' personal items and because of this, guests will work with our case managers to receive items as needed. We also have several other facilities and sometimes move donations to other facilities (such as a large donation of men's clothing at this location may go to the Men's Shelter). We also share donations with community partners. It is against our policies for staff to ever take a donation intended for the guests.
Yes please bring them walk in
Yes they are now requiring you to have an appointment!
Hi Melissa, you can sign up for a donation slot at bit.ly/MFRCdonations. You can find additional information at the following web address: https://theroadhome.org/in-kind/.
Yes they except food like that
Hi Jeanette! Donation reservations can be made at theroadhome.org/inkind. We do not have a reservation system at the Men's Resource Center or Gail Miller Resource Center. Thank you!
I'm sorry, I meant I have food items I would love to donate to the shelter I also have lots of diapers clothes and toys for babies. My one year old grandson hardly used any of it
Hi Anna! Absolutely, we would be happy to accept your generous donation! No appointment is needed and you are welcome to drop off between 8am and 7pm any day of the week. Thank you!

Yes
Not at the road home. ♥️
Why so many bedbugs?
Not a substance abuse program but if you ask the right people with the right experience and and people who lean on the understanding of God who live and work in the shelter you can get the help you need and yes you can bring your family from out of state hi my name is Mylisha
Hi Sherry! Absolutely! Please feel free to drop them off at 529 West 7300 South. The warehouse is attached to the building on the west side and our staff can assist you anytime between 8am and 7pm any day of the week! Thank you!
My daughter stayed there for 4 months and she had no problems, you just like anywhere you have to say no to drugs and keep a eye out for danger they put her in low income apartment
No. Children must be part of the family unit however we recommend that you call 801-990-9999 to speak with the team who can discuss your options and direct you to the best placement for your situation. Good luck!
This is the family shelter, so generally kids come with their parent (s), I am not sure if they will just take a single person alone, or send you to one of their other shelters.
There is a men's specific shelter that is at the Rio Grande Center by the Gateway mall downtown.
I'm sure you'd have to be with an adult.
Can I stay in your shelter
Really at any time. Ideal times are 7:00am through 8:00pm
We can accept service dogs as long as there are registered and certified.
Im not sure what your question is. Can you clarify?
I'm not sure it used to be 6am to 10 pm but I could be wrong it could now be 24 hour intake I say call & ask
We would love to have any clothing donation you would like to bring. Thank you.
As long as there is a child with her... they DO NOT allow any single adults there at all.
the DO NOT accept any single adult. The adult needs to have a child. This shelter is for families only
Not sure of your question? "OPEN BEEFS" if u mean hamburger than probably .. no
Can I go there if I’m a minor w no parents
Midvale road home is a good place.the staff can be alttle irratati g
Yes
The shelter will put in out on wrap it which will pay for three months of housing I am at the shelter right now and they're telling me they don't have any funds but you can also go to the Housing Authority off of 30 39th in Main Street and apply for housing and talk to them
We were there since February and never got housing you should try the lantern house in Ogden it's a lot better place and they get you into a place in 90 days
This is the Midvale Family shelter. An ID is all that is needed. Must have children under 18. The single men/women's shelter is located at 210 South Rio Grande street in Salt Lake City.
One of the biggest things needed at the road home is diapers and wipes. Currently they do not have any wipes
There's no funding but the housing authority is picking up the excess
You don't have to be living at the shelter to take part in our housing programs, however, in order to qualify for them. Many of the programs are under HUD statutes. These statutes require that you are to be literally homeless i.e. living somewhere not meant for human habitation.
The closest grey hound station is downtown about 15 or 20 min car ride. Also yes we will perform an intake with you anytime 24/7.
Yes
Bedding, pillows, towels, childrens toys, clothes.
They welcome donations
Not really a bus that takes you here. Blue and red lines get you close but you gotta walk from there. If you select the transit option in maps it will tell you the easiest and fastest way to her here
Right in front of the building, there is a bay on the west end that you pull up to
yes it's safe great fresh start but no lawyer
They treat you like you are nobody, which is sad. They just have a lot of people to deal with...
If you bring them to the family shelter give out your stuff like that outside the gate because they will just pack those kind of things up and send it away. Money toys gift cards are always a great gift to people outside the gate
