It would be best if you stayed away from this company that is not incompetent, but it also refused to refund our money after failing to fix the refrigerator ice maker. Whirlpool routed our call to VIA when contacted for repair. In early August 2022, a VIA technician diagnosed our refrigerator and said that the icemaker parts needed to be replaced, costing $557.15 (parts $294.48, labor $110, service $120, shipment $15, and tax $17.67). We paid in advance after being told by the VIA technician that replacing the icemaker part would fix the problem. After several weeks of waiting, the technician showed up and replaced the parts. Unfortunately, he did not test or wait for the ice to be made and left, saying that it would take a while for the ice maker to start to make ice. We stayed for a few weeks, but the icemaker did not make ice. The same technician came back after we called to report the problem and said an additional part is needed that he will order. To our disappointment, VIA told us that we would need to pay around $370 for additional parts. We waited for this company to fix the problem the whole summer. Not only was the problem not fixed, but they refused to either fix it or refund our payment in full. A supervisor named Meagan told us today that VIA only refunds $110 as a “courtesy,” which is insulting after all, we have gone through. This is quite simple: if that technician didn’t misdiagnose by saying that only icemaker parts needed to be replaced and additional parts to be replaced, we would have passed on the repair and purchased a new refrigerator. However, it’s a 5-6-year-old refrigerator that we could have replaced altogether instead of paying $557.15 initially and asked to pay an additional $370. We asked for them to fix the problem or refund the whole amount. But they won't either. Unethical business practice.

So glad I called Via Appliance Repair. I had done my “homework” in researching my refrigerator’s LED light issue so I had a fairly good idea of what would probably be involved in a repair. Jonathon came in, verified the issue and then explained what would take place after the part (that naturally had to be ordered) comes in. I plan to request Jonathon for the return installation. He also was most informative on just how Whirlpool approaches their appliances. As it turned out, the original lights in our refrigerator were faulty, Whirlpool realized this shortly after our refrigerator was purchased. The difference here is Whirlpool stood behind their product and my lights will be replaced without a parts charge. Lesson learned: Whirlpool certainly appears to be proactive on correcting flawed parts - I dare say many other manufacturers will do the same. Via Appliance only services the Whirlpool family of products. They admittedly are not the cheapest service available, but I am convinced they are the best.

Hello, Thank you for your question. There are several reasons why that might be occurring. Unfortunately, we would be unable to address the issue without a proper diagnosis. We always recommend caution when experiencing appliance problems, especially with gas appliances. Please feel free to call us at 410-451-4104 and one of our representatives will be able to further assist.
Hello Garry, Thank you for your question. Generally, we suggest repairs only when needed and advise against "check-ups" if your unit is running properly. For general maintenance, we recommend consulting your Use & Care Guide, as that has appliance specific information. Some manufacturers recommend regular defrosting of freezers, coolers, and refrigerators, where certain appliance specific instructions must be followed. Regularly changing water filters and cleaning dryer vents will also keep your household appliances running well. If you have appliance specific questions, or have a unit in need of repair, you can call our office at 410-451-4104. Thank you!
They order directly from the manufacturer however availability will be dependent on the model and brand of appliance.
Have a tech take a look it's cheaper then buying a new one if they can fix it! Worth a shot anyway.
Hello, Thank you for your question. A refrigerator no longer cooling can be caused by many different things, the likelihood of each depending on the make and mode of your unit. Unfortunately, we would not be able to provide an accurate answer without preforming a diagnosis on the unit. We would love to assist you though, so if you would like to schedule an appointment you can do so on our website or by reaching us at 410-451-4104.
Parts are generally available for the first seven years of an appliances life after that only the most common ones remain available. They are a factory direct servicer they got my parts faster than others.
Thank you for your question. Most cleaning does not need to be done by an appliance professional and can be done with appliance specific cleaners. Cleaning guides can often be found in the Use and Care manual or on the manufacturer's website. Cleaning issues that would require professional assistance include debris stuck in a unit that would require disassembling the unit, or if mold has become a problem and an affected part needs to be replaced. If you have any questions regarding cleaning your specific unit, we recommend checking the associated Use and Care Guide. If that does not address your needs, feel free to call us at 410-451-4104 for an appointment with one of our appliance repair technicians.
Thank you for your question. We consider that a very personal decision. It makes sense for some customers, but not for others. It depends on many factors including age of the unit, cost of the repair, cost of a new unit, and customer desire to keep a specific unit. Certain features come in and out of fashion, and some sizes are more difficult to find or more expensive, so in those cases it might be worth more to a customer to go through with a repair than if they had a different set of needs. This is one of the reasons why our technicians provide customers with a quote for the repair prior to proceeding, so customers can make an informed decision. We also understand that it might take a while to decide if a repair is the right choice, so we provide a 30 day call back window to offer customers a no-pressure way to decide if repairing an appliance is in their best interest. We hope that answered your question, and thank you again for your interest.
Too much soap initially or too little rinse water in cycle. Start by putting less soap. Otherwise, if you are using the wrong type of detergent for your machine. There is low sudsing soap for the newer machines.
Thank you for your question. We do guarantee our parts and labor. The guarantee changes depending on the specifics of the repair. If you have questions about an ongoing service request or about future service, please do not hesitate to reach us at 410-451-4104.
Not sure but they schedule the service ahead of time with you
As I understood it, The $120 is for the repair man to come. If he needs to install a new part it's an extra $110 plus the cost of the part. I did not need a new part so I was only charged the $120. Worth every penny :-)
