Subpar enough food, extremely under-extracted and distasteful drip coffee. It tasted very burnt at the same time. The food me and my boyfriend ordered took upwards of 50 minutes to get out—the result was a very bland, thin BLT and a very OK turkey club. Not the very worst I’ve ever had, but I feel like it’s certainly not worth what we ended up paying for our drinks and food. In my boyfriend’s espresso based drink (latte), it tasted much more like burnt foam. Tables were also very dirty.

The best coffee shop in STL!!!!! I could come here everyday. The cinnamon rolls are an absolute must try. The service is always the best, the food is always great. The prices are the best in town. I tell everyone who is in the area to stop in and try Hartford!!

This is my second bad experience with Hartford coffee. I ordered a breakfast bowl and no potatoes were in it (as described on the menu). The portion was also about a 1/3 of the size it normally is. To top it all off, it said my order would be ready at 10:05. I didn’t leave there with my order until 10:25. I understand it was busy, but from my order time that is an hour wait from order time. I called and she said the manager would refund it, but I’m not holding my breath. They need to figure out how to logistically make things smoother, especially with online orders. I probably won’t be going back, which is sad because it’s so close to my house and usually has pretty good food.
