Not a bad city. Lots of places to go for shopping, eating and entertainment

Nice station with friendly staff. There is a subway on the ground floor. The station is clean. The train seems to be delayed every time so be prepared for delays.

It was easy to figure everything out got a sandwich at Subway paid with the app didn't have to go through the small line I think there was three people and they were done by the time I was done ordering on the app. Backup to the Amtrak waiting area. By the time I was done with my sandwich only waited about 10-15 minutes the train showed up everybody there was polite and courteous and very very kind. The Amtrak people Subway and other people working various things there.

Amtrak has free REGISTERED parking in the Chester Street Lot which is located on the other side of the tracks. Access to and from the lot is available via the Chester Street Viaduct that goes UNDER the tracks. Parking is usually not full and limited to a max of two weeks unless authorized by Illinois Terminal Security. Registration slips can be obtained inside. Slips are to be turned in at Illinois Terminal.
Yes it still goes to New Orleans and leaves at 10:34 p.m. there's only one train that goes that way I hope this was helpful
Busses you can go anywhere in champaign Urbana not a whole lot to do but downtown champaign has restaurants and bars. Coffee shops.
Depends on what mode of transportation your want to "get on".
Closest hotel to the train station is the Hyatt Place on Neil St. No shuttle that I'm aware of but it is only a few blocks away from the station. The other hotels in the area are a pretty significant distance farther away.
East side of the tracks; the lot on Water & Chester. Walk back under the tracks to enter the station from the first floor, and make sure you know your license plate number and Amtrak reservation number to register your car. It's free.
Yes, you can send the passenger their tickets via email and they can show them to the conductor either in printout form (tell them to print the pdf attachment) or on a mobile device. Alternately, if the passenger doesn't have email they can show their ID (required that all adult passengers have valid ID with them while traveling) and the conductor can look them up onboard.
There are many city buses that run from the terminal to campus at various times and locations. Each costs $1 per ride. You can check routes and schedules at www.cumtd.com

You should buy a parking permit it would be cheaper
I believe it's 14.
I believe so. Check with them for more accurate info.
No
I parked my car for a week with no issues. The lot is monitored by camera.
There is parking in the front and I did not have to pay to pick up my mother-in-law
