I was admitted to MUSC Florence in late Sept 2022. I absolutely could not have asked for a better experience. From general registration, to the nursing aides, nurses, head nurse, doctors, everyone was so attentive and went above and beyond! It was an absolutely great experience (for a hospital stay). I was checked on regularly and everyone seemed to genuinely care for my health and well being. One of my nurses even brought me Starbucks! I was so impressed with the nurses and doctors. I will always recommend this hospital! I was on the 8th floor and the 8th floor team was awesome!

It appears all MUSC did was change the name of the hospital. The building and equipment is so outdated and unclean, I was afraid to be treated there. I was left on a bed in the hall. The Staff obviously was not observing HIPPA at all. They tried to examine me in the hall. Doctors and nurses were asking me personal questions in the hall. Plus so many workers were standing around talking and laughing. They would not let me eat because of testing however they didn’t have any food after the testing was completed. I am a diabetic and my glucose was bottoming out. One tech offered to bring me back some juice but she never returned and I never got juice. I was not treated, but offered Morphine! How can a hospital have no food? What?! There are zero amenities. Two nurses told me they would come back and never did. I needed x-rays but they were afraid to call the radiologist because they only have two and they didn’t want to “bother them” on the weekend. This hospital is understaffed. Very. They only paid attention to me when threatened to leave. I should have left a lot earlier than I did. I left in more pain than I came with. I pray to God I never get taken to this hospital again. I will never ever go back to this hospital, if you can even call it that. It is not so much the staff I just believe the circumstances of their employment doesn’t make it possible for them to administer the best care. MUSC failed their Florence center. Bigtime. Potential patients BEWARE!!! Read the other reviews. There is a pattern of understaffing and neglect.

It is very rarely that I feel like I have been treated this poorly time and time again. After my surgery I have called the office multiple times. They will pick the phone up, you will hear talking and then you are hung up on. When you call back it is the same, until you're finally put on hold. I am in pain and can barely walk after the surgery and I was told that I shouldn't be. I called Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All 3 days I was told I would receive a call back even when I explained they told me the same thing the last two times I called. On Friday I called and was told the same thing and then I called back at 12:30 just to be told they are closed and I would have to wait till Monday to talk to someone. All I would like to know is if sometimes this is normal (because I was told it would not be and I could return to work the following day), If something is wrong and I should return and see someone or some sort of answer. This is the current situation I am in. The day of the surgery I was told to be there two hours early for a X-ray. I showed up at 11am for a 2pm appointment. The X-ray went quick and I was in the office at 11:30 to check in. I was told they would have to wait to closer time to check me in (understandable) My wife and I went down stairs to eat and returned at 1:15. The receptionist told me they would check me in but I WOULD NOT be seen (she made it very clear) till my appointment time at 2pm. (understandable again) At 2:45pm I was told DR. Hsia was backed up but was doing one more surgery and would see me after (understandable, things happen) at 3pm I was called to the back. At 4:45 the office director asked me to reschedule but they could not tell me when it would be rescheduled to. I decided to wait, I had been waiting since 11am anyways and understand things happen. At 5:30 the office was very quiet. I walked out of the room, to the desk. No one was there. I walked to the reception area. No one was there. When I walked to the back again a nurse said "oh no, they must have forgot about you." Then another nurse came in and said, "go ahead and take your cloths off Dr. Hsia will be in, in a minute." around 6pm Dr. Hsia came in and took care of the stent removal. Dr. Hsia has been great, I would recommend him to anyone. It is the rest of the operation that is failing. After calling the hospital and speaking to several supervisors all I am told is no can can really tell me anything other than the office, Who I can not get ahold of.

I first lost my grandmother here and now my mother. I absolutely HATE this hospital. Not for the workers because some are sweet as they can be. But because there are so many unprofessional employees. I lost my mom this morning 12 am. We came up and was met by a heavy set security guard who stated the words perfect in regards to what he claimed he knew we were coming from. We almost got into an altercation. Train your employees how to handle people who are grieving. And not one that says well we talk like that from Florida. I WILL be back for a complaint. My mother used to WORK as a nurse there. Helping and caring for others. She was such a kind and loving woman.

I will ask
Yes.. long as you have a letter from her that's it okay
I haven't meant the employee's in that department. I have heard positive reviews and I ensure you that you are in good hands. At MUSC Florence we strive to treat our patients like we would like to be treated. I work in OB-Gyn and we rock as an all-female practice.
They must have masks and they can all wait in the waiting area but when u get in a room only one visitor in the room
Treat you very kind make you feel like you are the only patient in the Hospital
They do only if it's related to an accident and is an extraction.
It's in medical mall b on the first floor by the elevators
Yes! My mom has Molina along with medicare and Medicaid. That's where she goes.
