Grew up going here as a kid and definitely don’t go here anymore for some disturbing reasons regarding racism and SA I will discuss. In 4th grade I was in the trailers for Sunday school and our teachers told us “middle eastern people are invading our country and they’re killing christians in the middle east so that’s going to start happening here.” Then they said “let’s play a game to prepare you for when they’re going to try to kill you and take away your bible.”So the teachers turned over all the tables and turned out the lights and we hid holding our bibles. The teachers busted into the room pretending to be “evil middle eastern immigrants” and then proceeded to wrestle us in the dark to try and take away our bibles as a “fun game.” So yeah that was extraordinarily racist and creepy and messed up on so very many levels!!!! Still freaks me out today. Also my youth group’s pastor’s wife as a grown woman had an affair with a 17 year old kid in the group. Poor husband he was actually a really nice guy. Hope he left her. In the middle school sunday school I was in they didn’t include you in any events like canoeing or traveling unless you made good enough “grades.” They tried to get you to rigorously study and grade you when your like 10 in sunday school and be mean when you’d get 68s. I didn’t have time to study cause why would I. It’s sunday school for kids! So i was excluded from every single event in the group because I didn’t want to study and they were aggressive towards me for it. In the middle school sunday school they would also urge kids who expressed interest in being scientists to not do so because “it’s the devil’s work.” During VBS one year they told us satan put dinosaur bones on the earth to trick us and went on a long “lesson” about how “charles darwin was evil for studying evolution,” so if you acknowledge science at all maybe don’t bring your kids here. The regular adult worship service was good, so its the young kids and youth groups that are entirely crazy and inappropriate because its a small group for each one so they can just say and do whatever they want alone in their rooms and you not know about it. Some fun things happened in the youth group while I was there. Jeremy who ran it was good at doing his job as a leader and mentor to youth and is a kind soul. Dunno if he’s still there its been years. some people were very kind, some not, and the camps were fun, but these experiences really need to be heard This all happened between 2010 and 2018, So while ago but still recent enough to matter. These could just be isolated incidents from the past, but there are likely still more incidents like mine and that needs to be known.

Been a member of this church for over 10 years and really enjoy the music and the message. My granddaughters were just baptized at this church 3 weeks ago. Come join us and see for yourself.

Walking up to the entrance you could actually feel the love coming from inside. Being a gay couple was no problem. We were welcomed and made to feel at home and invited back. Everyone is welcome here and there is no religious pressure like some churches. Great place to worship the Lord.
