Showers, laundry, market, free water filling stations and bathrooms.

It's a great place to stay as long as you know what to expect.

I'd much prefer to be in my own cleaner tent, than stay here. There is nothing (and I mean nothing) keeping squirrels, rats, & bugs away from you and your stuff. The location is good and there are hot showers are the pros. My son's brand new camel pack was chewed up by an animal (rat?) overnight which was next to our bed.....

Handy for doing laundry if you're in the area. Change machines and soap on site. Count about 30 min for washing and 40 min for drying, so around 1h30. The washers left soap residue and several dryers were dirty (tissues, papers, etc). The soap machines were all empty. So needs more regular maintenance.

+1 bring a power strip. You won't be able to use the outlets for a space heater, they prohibit those, but charging your electronics gives you a high class glamping lifestyle in the valley. Another outlet related thing that's helpful in finding your tent at night is to bring some Christmas lights and string them around the patio area. It also gives good ambient light at night. Bring clips or zip ties to help hang them. On a completely unrelated note, I also bring a study two person beach towel that I use as a carpet for the inside of the tent. Gives it a homey feel as the concrete can be pretty dirty. If you have space to pack a small broom, that's really helpful too in keeping things tidy, inside and out.
No dogs allowed
Yes it is
No money to shower . But everyone that wants to shower has to have a reservation. They give you a ticket to shower as many you like. They provide you with one towel everytime you shower. But it is a Public shower for everyone that stays in that camp site.
I stayed in Housekeeping Camp recently (mid-August). Nighttime temps were around 59 to 62° F.
I paid 3 a day for a pillow I think the bedding was 12
Reservations for housekeeping camp are booked one year in advance. I suggest calling or looking online now to see what is available.
Housekeeping does not allow personal tents. They have pre-set up permanent tents in the camp. Other campsites allow tents though
You should be able to ship it to the house keeping office. I deffinitly wouldn't try to ship something to my hut while staying there.
Yes but using a propane space heater with a 16 oz propane bottle will only last you about 5 hours, not the whole night.
There is a check in office right as you drive into housekeeping.
Thanks for your answerers. Corey that was funny.
There is someone always there to check you in - doesnt matter if it's late. You will get your unit number when you check in.
Tents on the patio area are ok. Anything outside of the unit is considered out of bounds camping. The units allow no more than 6 people.
No
On the websites
It'd be hard to actually catch anything here because of all the activity, noise pollution, rough terrain and current.
There is a military discount to get into the park but not for housekeeping camp specifically
Maybe maybe not
With paper work i believe so but call to check
Bring everything that you would normally bring if you were tent camping. Bathrooms, showers, a fire pit, plastic mattresses, bear locker and a picnic table are included. So yes...bring a sleeping bag. No there is no kitchen.
$65 to 135 it depends on the room size and beds in the room
This is Google maps, not Yosemite National Park. You would need to make any reservations almost a year in advance, as this is a popular place to visit.
All bathrooms are communal
I believe so, but they are fairly inexpensive to begin with. The trick is getting a reservation.
Housing keeping camp cabins have a mattress for two to sleep closely and two single bunks on the wall. They do rent pillows and sheets for a very minimal expense, even chairs for around the camp fire. A quality light weight sleeping bag is a very good idea if you can bring one for each person, as it gets cold at night. By light weight, I mean a light only in how much it weighs.
Am 99% certain they are booked. But you got a good chance of getting in on cancellations, just make sure you call often, especially in the months coming up to July. Last thing, this is run through google, Aramark does not check it, nor do they answer.
We found dates last min for week days but weekends were all booked till the end of the season.
