2022 update: this place continues to close absurdly early. We were out in the Hamptons doing some apple picking today and thought we would stop at Tates after. We looked up what time they close around 4:15 and saw they were already closed. Impossible to go here unless you are a morning person who lives out there lol, they don't care about the rest of their potential customers. 2021: Drove out from Babylon. It's closed @ 4pm. It said it closed at 5. So frustrating that the hours at this place are so early.

What a fun place to visit. It's one of my daughter's favorite bakeries to stop at whenever we go out east. This time we'd stopped enroute to the Shinnecock Labor Day Pow Wow and were thrilled that we had. Everything looked so delicious that we knew we weren't leaving empty handed or empty stomached, as usual. Though there's often a long line, it moves relatively quickly, and gives you time to browse and pick up extra goodies. It's great for gifts as well as filling those personal whims.

Yes they are available in Stop n Shop. You should go to the Bake Shop. They offer fresh baked goods and pies as well.

Of course, Tates is very reputable. Call them and make a joke about " the cookie crumbling". Any one will understand. You still have a gift. Buy her favorite ice cream and use the cookies ( after you roll them into crumbs) as a topping.
Check in occasionally, they may come back. Personally, I adore the Vanilla Cookies.

There are no bad cookies there although my favorite are the chocolate chips. Their gluten free cookies are great toi!
