CC gave me first job in NY last June working an episode of Law and Order. It got me semi-bonding w/ Noah Kieserman in that Bodega scene for over an hour! That was worth all …
Keeping it Real Alicia Sullivan
It was hard to find the place which was really good for me.

Can't you just have to find out for your self
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
If I’m not mistaken you have to be there before 10am
Usually 1-2 weeks after that production day. Not, at the end of all production.
As soon as they call. No limit, however your at the mercy of.....
Google "casting agency's." Then check social media for them (Facebook, etc.) Visit Central Casting, & register.
Yeah, it's pretty common. I recommend using casting networks it has all of central castings casting call and more!
Not at all, did you ever join Sagaftra? If you did, I would check with the website. ( Sagaftra) Also having an up to date profile never hurts. One more thing, you can take some wonderful heatshots using most new phones.
go online
Don't waste time popping up. CC has to give your name to security so you wouldn't get past them. It took me 3 months to find an open spot. Keep trying their website. The day I was able to get was actually unavailable just hours before I checked again so try multiple times a day.
Yes unfortunately you only get to do (non-verbal) work being a background actor... According to an agent I know If you want to pursue speaking roles then you have to forget all about doing background work and start submitting for student films, web series, short films, commercials etc... Start building your resume and start submitting yourself and going into auditions for speaking roles on telivision & film projects....
Check their website. They list times for all; non-union, union, re-newals, and children. You may also download the forms before attending the orientation. Great experience.
You can call them. The numbers are on the website. It will be more productive to come in when they are hosting a non union registration, you can find those dates online. Calling is fine too.
That's the beauty of working as a background actor; experience not necessary. You are background--not the star. However, that can change in an instant. Stay positive.
Yes they certainly do, with parent or guardian of coarse
Actually, I would. Provided your honest with yourself. And take it seriously, & stay positive...great way to get (foot in door) on set.
Look online but ladies are Tuesday and Thursday for renewals
Its not thrm but some production companies will offer rides from Manhattan to location. Usually they will let you know the night before where you can catch the bus
I believe it is every other Tuesday and Thursday without an appointment
Hello, while due to Covid there have been some issuses, I can trully say that this is not a scam. Please keep trying, you have to go online to make a reservations. Sometimes the window opens and closes really quick. But please keep trying. Or at least please give them a call.
Well then, what's other solution?
Varies by the production. There is no set schedule across the industry
You have to make an appointment with Central Casting
They may, actors who portray nurses maybe.
Its really easy oncw you claim your profile. Just follow the prompts. You can upload about 15 picture. No video yet.
No
Go on social media platform and post and ad for actors and non actors for features roles and parts sir...
If someone from Central Casting calls, there's always a functioning number to return their call. ALWAYS. Don't fret about the missed call. There's plenty of work out there. You'll be be booked soon. 😊😊
Not at all. In fact they ask you NOT to be more than 10 minutes early and no later than 10 minutes late. Be on time for the appointment and you should have no problems.
Really??
Good morning John, yes check the website to see what dates are available to register and also be aware there's a form every talent needs to sign now for sexual harrassment meaning if you have personal conversation you share with a friend and someone felt uncomfortable about it casting can band you or not use you for a while, not sure if that's how it works completely. Good luck with your acting career and wish you the best.
This is a fickle business, I registered in 2017 and got bookings up the wazoo then crickets. Get use to the word no but no doesn't define you. Have faith be stubborn and submit for jobs don't just rely upon Central Casting for bookings there's Casting Networks and a slew of other casting agencies. Now get to work
Go on the site, set up an appointment to update your current look, and info and also join other sites as the last person said. If you go with another site that you pay for, just so you know Central Casting posts the same projects and you need to be a part of their casting to get work as well. Blue Bloods,Svu,etc.. Make sure your not SAG eligible if you are called for certain roles that they ask, cause you will have to call Sag/Aftra to verify that.
IF you cannot, for some reason, do it online, you can make an appointment to come in on a Friday to watch the video at Central Casting.
You e got to sign in and itll automatically direct you to do it.. you may need to try on another browser
They post certain days for that - I think the days depend upon your union status. Just make an apt thru the website.
Any age as long you get the required documents for child actors. Check the site it'll tell you what you need.
No, you are paid for your work, - they charge a fee to those requiring talent.
They do accept minors but you need documents to have for him to apply. Look at the website for Central Casting and it'll provide further details.
Have to go online and see what date is available to register. Make sure it's under the N.Y office and stick to your appointment cause if you miss it you will have to wait for a new date.If no dates are open keep checking everyday till one opens. Make sure you also have all your wardrobe sizes like height, weight clothes, costumes if you have any,and a car if you drive.
They have a poor system and it needs to change! Folks need to find another agency that will be available to register folks in a timely manner.
Keep checking occasionally because spots open and fill up fast.
the problem is that I have not been able to work because when changing my number they can not contact me, and the office by appointment only can be entered , thx u
Yes I had there problem before You just have to check twice it could be tricky.
The nearest central casting to Florida is in Atlanta GA
Just check out the site and register for an available appointment slot. No need to have experience. Just follow what the procedures are when on set when production assistants tell you what to do. Just don't be like other people and ask principal actors for pictures or autographs cause you will get banned.
Hi Vanessa. Driver's license, passport, state ID., SS card, school ID (University) birth certificate, military id, does that help you?
I am almost positive you have to register first. You should visit the website. 👍
Well there are days they send you for walk away lunches. You can also get breakfast if you arrive early enough and crafting is avail most of the day. But yes they do provide lunch
It depends if you're Union or not. I've known non-union shoots to not be properly fed.
The renewal takes less than about 10+ minutes. (If arrive early & prepared) You will have to wait in line & be patient..it can take longer.
Hi Chef Eddie. Central casting (CC) is for Acting & background work. Yes, you could apply. Try reading their website, follow up. There is so much to do, & many opportunities. Good luck!
CC has dates on the calendar on their website which indicate when you can show up to update your photos with them. You do need to register in person initially, and there are dates for that as well.
No; not missing a thing. They post registration two weeks prior to the dates you're looking at. You have to keep checking back. In the meantime, if you don't have work permit (s) and trust fund paperwork, for your child (ren), you can work on getting those in order from the NYS Dept. Of Labor website (of course it's all free). You can also kill time by signing up your children to other background agencies. In this industry, you can't let grass grow under your feet. 😀
You don't have to pay. You are asking people who have been there and not the company. For a list of their clients, go to their website.
They only open up the appointments exactly two weeks prior online. They are very regular with this, so early AM two weeks prior you should take eye the appointment page and click when you see it open. It's the updates that were crowded and less so for first time appointments.
Nothing; just government-issued ID. Take some time and read their website. They put a lot of time into making it so informative, you wouldn't believe it. Tons of retirees sign up, and they had no previous experience in entertainment.
I have nothing to add. It appears LeVera S., has shown the way.
I'm from pakistan So, it is possible that I came and acting?
Go their website and Facebook page. They have specific dates for that.
No. They will take a photo
The production company sets the call time, and the casting agency posts that for us to show up at that time. Decline and the casting agency may not send you more work. Not all calls are early but the expectation is that once they choose you, you will be there at the appointed time.
Not sure what it is now. It used to be around $80 a gig and you you work 8 to 10 hours a day. They really need to treat the background actors much better and increase their pay. If it were not for these actors the wealthy producers and directors would have boring movies. They make millions off the movies and give the Non-union actors peanuts. That needs to change! Shame on those who are in charge. They also need to make those call times later than 5am, 6pm and 7am. They need to let those who can make early check in times come at those wee hours in the morning. Some folks are available to play the role, but need a later check in time. Most times they have you sitting around more than an hour after you check in, doing NOTHING! Those in charge of the production need to be more flexible with their check in times. This is why sometimes they have problems filling the roles.
Check exactly 14 days before the next session and you will see that day open up. They fill up fast! Example: if the day you would like to reserve is September 17 at 10am, check the website on September 3 at 10am and you will see it become available. Hopefully that helps!
L.S. has given a good stsrt. Also do some research, make an effort to learn expand your vision of yourself...acting is how others see "you." If your believable
Yes, that should be a new registration. You have to schedule it online. They only open it up 14 days before so you'll see lots of unavailable times. You have to get to that page, first thing in the AM two weeks prior the appointment to snag a time.
Bc and social is not a photo of the baby can get a state Id or passport
Go to their website and make an appointment.
No.
I beleive you can change it but going up on wed. But the time is only an hour window. You should call and confirm what time you can come in on wed.
You have to go their website and print out the required documents. Then fill them out before going to their office on Tuesday or Thursday at the specified time. They go over the paperwork with you to make sure you have filled it out correctly, you have it in, and then they take the picture of everyone that showed up. They then have you make sure your info is correct in their computer and then you're done with your enrollment. They also tell you where to look for jobs that they put out. They are a free hiring service. But you have to put in for the jobs yourself that you met the requirements for. And then it's up to the Casting Directors to pick who they think would best fit the role. So it's kind of hit or miss sometimes.
No clue
Carmen is right. Register in person, but you can download the paperwork from their website, and bring in completed, that will put you ahead of the rest. Go early too. Check the website to see which days are for New Talent Registration, because you cannot just walk in and register.
You can also go to their website. They list pertinent information.
Unless they have changed, you'll see your picture when you submit for jobs..
Keep submitting. Grant wilfrey handles orange
No you never pay them. They are like a temp agency for background actors. You get sent to a set and then you get paid ib two weeks.
You can call them too. They'll have a long message with the specifics. You'll need to update all you're info though
Yes.
No check their website males depending on if their union or?non-union have a particular time and day.
Work is not at all that frequent here in NYC!
Central Casting does have bookings for 13 yr olds! I do not work for them, I get bookings from them myself ! - Evan
Birth Certificate or Social Security Card! See you 'on set' someday! - Evan
If you aren't in the SAG-AFTRA Union, you aren't in the Union. Register for non-union.
Dressed to impress like you are going for a job interview at the White House
Call Central directly I believe it's Tuesdays and Thursdays are non-union update and Thursday is Union and non-union update and it's weekly if you've got anywhere between two and three years I suggest you do go in and update your photograph and your information or you'll be purged from the system to the amount of people we have coming in that are no longer needing to pay an entry fee it is free of charge and remember that if you are going to get any job in California as a background actor and you are non-union it applies to the same rules as Ready Labor or or daily day labor services in the fact that you cannot pay to have a job and they cannot take money for you from you for the said job the job pays you. They get their gratuity and their amount of percentage for your membership out of the payments from the client not from you so if you ever meet managers or casting agencies or agencies of any type the present themselves it's entertainment booking other than management Booker's
Do you have to bring a state ID valid and your Social Security if you want to bring a birth certificate that's fine if there's any immigration paperwork simply your passport residency card and H1 visa for work permit
