The Hotel Julien was absolutely fantastic to work with for our wedding! They have amazing communication and were very thorough in answering all of our questions! We were working with Nicole up until she had maternity leave. We then started working with Dianne while Nicole was out. This was a smooth transition and they did a nice job of introducing us and making us feel comfortable and like we were in good hands. We had no issues with the hotel besides a minor mix up in the set up of the room which was promptly fixed! They were very easy to work with the night before when we had made some last minute changes! We had many compliments on the food, which was delicious and the banquet staff was fantastic and made sure everything was perfect and things were going well throughout the night! I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! I highly recommend the Hotel Julien!

The location is great, the building is well maintained, the rooms are clean, well equipped and beautifully designed. The lobby has a grand and historical hotel feel, yet the rooms didn’t feel old at all. The pool and hot tub area was lovely, but I wish the outdoor terrace was better maintained. The prices were inflated on Memorial Day weekend (understandably) but their normal pricing seems in line with value. Importantly, they have multiple EV chargers in the parking lot behind the building!

The hotel was great. We didn't venture far and the neighborhood had a few nice places (Stone Cliff Brewery and Barrel House were great). There were a lot of interesting buildings and house and hills. We didn't stay long, but if there were other things to do in and around Dubuque, the Hotel Julien would make a great home base!

We were here for Valentine's day weekend. A very busy weekend we know. However, it would have been nice to be alerted that most hotel services would not be functioning as a result. We could not get in to the restaurant, couldn't get room service and couldn't order food at the bar. Other than that it was a beautiful hotel with amazing views.

Hello Karoline, Thank you for your question. There is a $1.00 plus 7% tax for the destination management fee for each night of your stay that is added to your room rental fees. Other incidental charges would be any services or retail purchases that you would make in the restaurants, lounges, room service or spa. We do authorize $100 at check-in for any possible incidental charges. This $100 hold is released at check out, though some banking institutions may take up to two weeks before releasing the hold. Please discuss this with your banking institution that you may have debit or credit cards with. Sincerely, Team Hotel Julien Dubuque
Just call them and they will answer any questions you may have.
