To be honest, I was her Pokemon hunting with my daughter. The place looked clean and well kept, I didn't take but one picture, and although it is covered in graffiti, it looks really cool. A tiny walk to get to it and the rest of the land around it looked great. My daughter has her own pictures from a previous visit and in the middle tunnel, she and her bf had taken pictures and they did in the water, if you do it just right it looks like you are standing on water.

Love it since the weather was perfect today. 70. Really need to get in shape and this hike by the cross will do it ☺️.

Awesome to take your family and friends with on a good hike. Great adventure for adults on higher up trials to lower by the river for kids or just to get back to your car walk back from up top trials.

Beautiful park, with many trails and a wide open terrain. Great to bring the cuddly furries with you to run around and hike up with you on this route up to the scenic outcropping. Had a great time with my friends

Hi Susan, let me try and answer your question for ya. There is 4 swimming holes in upper park along the Yahi Trail. Access to the Yahi trail is right off the main access road. The four swimming holes are, in order, Alligator Hole, Bear Hole, Salmon Hole and Browns Hole. explorebuttecounty.com has some great information on the swimming holes as well. Hope this helps!
I think it is easier to ask forgiveness than ask permission. There is a realtor in town who periodically cleans 1st and spruce that doesn't get in trouble
It is free, no permits needed except a fishing license. There is hiking, biking, swimming, horse trails, barbecues, picnic benches, wild life, wild berries and fruit trees, a golf course, frisbee golf throughout, an observatory next to the indoor shooting range - next to Horseshoe Lake. Where you are describing is state, yet further down the chico creek it is part of the city. With the creek being transformed into outdoor pool called Sycamore Pool aka as 1 mile, because it is 1 mile from the Bidwell mansion. 5 Mile is up by where you are... Next the 1 mile area is the Sherwood Forest where the 1937 version of Robin Hood was taped with Errol Flynn... So it depends on what type of activities as a tourist you are looking for. Enjoy exploring Bidwell Park!!!
That would a great place for that. I would call to reserve to make it a private area of your choice. Walk all the way through and pick out best place for you.
Upper park is wonderful for swimming and lounging. 1 mile park has had homless camping in it for 4 yrs. They've been cleaned out but hazards are put there.
