What a fantastic play area for little kids to play in Bidwell park. I only wish there was a water fountain, but otherwise all the play equipment was very good, working, and ideal for kids below 13

So I do love this park so very much. Mainly the whole area. Yet these days there are many homeless camps literally on the other side of the bike path around the park, hidden throughout the woodsy trees. But also, because there are so many trees, be vigilant of falling branches. Just FYI. A whole limb nearly fell on my little niece. Which would have been catastrophic. But they do keep the park up to date, and it's a very fun place to bring your children. Even w/just the 3 stars....I still suggest going💕

Beautiful area for a nice walk and great for relaxation kids and animals and couples maybe a picnic blanket date definitely one of my favorite chico spots

Love this little park, however would watch the little ones close due to alot of homeless traffic and the concern for drug use there. If it was not for that I would give a full 5 stars. I love that the play area has a huge rubber Matt for the little ones and they have areas that are age designated as well as a great place to do birthday parties. Also it's fenced in all but the entrance and that made me feel much safer with my children

It was built in 1970. Fact: if you watch the Robin Hood movie, with Basil Rathbone, Sherwood Forest is actually Bidwell park.
