I was informed the night before I was to pick up my minivan in Charlotte that the Avis lot was "completely sold out of vehicles." Through the help of the Avis representative at the airport, I was finally able to obtain a minivan but at a significant increase in price. So much for making reservations with Avis/Budget.

Cars just are not clean. That simple. Feet prints on the inside of the windshield. I KNOW you are probably understaffed but aren't we all? Please do not leave a note in my car saying it was professionally cleaned & you can clearly see not much effort was put into it at all.

I am very displeased with Avis. It took forever to get through the check in line. The customer rep asked me a few times if I wanted and upgrade to which I replied no. I picked up the car I was assigned and was checked out at the gate without a problem. Imagine my surprise when I returned the car and got the e-receipt for over 3 times the amount of my confirmed rental. When I tried to work through customer service, they were very unhelpful and kept saying that the cost was for the car I drove. I asked to speak to a supervisor one was not available. I was told someone would call me back that was four days ago. Tried to file a ticket through their website but it wouldn't let me submit the information even though I filled out all the required fields. I have rented with Avis many times but will not do so again. I would have given them zero stars but of course you can't submit the review without at least giving one.

Someone else was driving off with the car that was assigned to me. The taxes are just as much as the rental.

I tried reaching out via social media & still sent into the call center vortex. No matter what option you choose, nor time of day, you are re-routed to the call center who refers you back to the specific branch location.
Go to the 800 number to get a live agent, then ask to be transferred to senior management.
I would go to the location if you want to speak to someone, but if you put in your reservation you need a carseat there is an option for that then it will be provided.
The rates will vary based on availability for the week however you will always be subject to airport fees and taxes when renting from an airport. For cheaper rates you can always check the local area for the closest rental cars off airport property.

Very close They built a dedicated location for all the rental agencies at the terminal near baggage claim.
We just went to the desk/customer service area where we picked up the cars. They were very nice and had it done in minutes.
When you get to arrival hall, exit and walk straight across the road. Rental car desk is there.
