Shorti Keeps it Real
This place is absolutely beautiful. Peaceful, relaxing and quiet. Very clean and well maintained. Campgrounds are slightly small and crowded together, but are well kept with exceptionally clean restrooms and spacious showers. Big swimming area and sandy beach. Always a great place to go

The lake is good to swim in, the trail around the lake is easy going and accessible. The mill is cool to check out, and the campground is really nice. They have a whole row designated for primitive camping.

We went here on a bike ride around the lake at it was so lovely! The trail was just the perfect length for me (3.85mi) with some challenging small hills but lots of easy riding. We plan to come here with our kids for a pre-Disney Hike!

We didn't see the state historic site...from the pictures it looks beautiful though. It's a great place to go tent camping (the truest kind in my opinion)...very nice campgrounds, a HUGE gorgeous lake with a long, gorgeous trail and great lakeside views. Take your family and go on a hike, have a picnic, go fishing, camping, grilling...or just sit back and enjoy nature 'n all its beauty.

Yes
Yes absolutely
Saw several fishing with results. Have fished there but I personally haven't had great luck.
No, it's a state park, not federal
They have grills there to use. I don't see why you couldn't bring your own though. They have several areas for picnicking.
No paddle boats for rent. However it is a beautiful place to take a canoe or small boat!
Public, it's a Missouri State Park, no cost to enter the park or boat on the lake , fees are to camp or for guided tours of the old mill and Main house, and museum/gift shop.
I dont think you have to make reservations. I believe you walk through on your own
Somewhere around 20 a night and you can be close to the lake but not lakeside
You can if your camping. If not the park closes. It is gated dawn to dusk.
Yes, the swimming beach was open last weekend when we were there. It's located NE of Kearny, MO. About an 30 minute to hour's drive from Kansas City proper
There was a sign there on Friday that said the beach was open.
Yes
We were there with a 32 foot Class A in early August 2019. $31.50 full hookups 50amp
Yes you can travel trailer and tent camp in the same spot. The swimming part of the lake I believe is memorial day to labor day. There is a little stream to play in that feed the lake with a small 2 foot waterfall.
$5/bundle. You can also purchase 20lbs of ice for $5
Call the visitor center and they can tell you which ones are available. The cost is around $75.00
Not that I have heard of. The storm passed just South of the park.
There are guided tours of the mill and the house. They are around $3 a piece I believe.
Yes!
Not with the motor in the water. 10hp limit.
There were ppl fishing there this weekend, and there were some decent size fish being caught.
Wouldn't think so as it's above river level
No cabins. Camping with electric $21.00. just left there. Bundles of wood $5.00. Don't know how much tent/boondocking sites are. Busy park
You have to buy a night permit
Try asking in Jackson County 😂😂😂
State requirements apply. Large HP motors allowed at slow speeds, per sign @ boat ramp.
I dont honestly think anyone is policing the dump station that carefully
