Just stopped to donate some unneeded puppy pads. The employees here are always friendly and professional. The animals are well cared for.

Thanks for all the friendly assistance from staff while there! I wish I could take all the cats and kittens home! ❤️

The staff and volunteers were very friendly and helpful when adopting my sweet Faith. They were 100% transparent about Faith’s medical conditions and how much her medications would cost. Although she was very scared, it was obvious she had been well-taken care of during her time at CVHS.

Doing great job with animals, the place is clean and smells good. They helped us to foster 2 adorable kittens one week old. It is a good experience with a lot of care needed for the kittens. But I and my kids learned a lot. They provided us with the food, litter. .....and everything. Thanks to the great job they are doing.

No they're not
She may be in foster care or already adopted. Call the office or go visit if you can.
Yes
Cedar valley does not put animals down..cr animal shelter by kirkwood college does put animals down because they don't want to deal with them..i also heard they won't even put on website so the owners can find their pets...
Try going to their site, or call, she may have been adopted
Call them while they are open, I believe they open at noon
Always in need of volunteers to walk dogs, pet cats, clean cages. I think there is an application on the website
Make sure you are using "https" in the web address and not just "http"
The range in price covers more than just the adoption cost. The dogs & cats generally have been microchipped, spayed/neutered & shots. Also, call ahead as often they have placed many of the dogs.
Yes
Hi there! Please give us a call to talk to the front desk receptionists 319-362-6288
Not at this time! Thank you for asking. You can always view our adoptable animals on our website: www.cvhumane.org
North liberty for sure. Not sure of the other towns
No, we do not offer spay and neuter services to the public.
They take from Linn county other than Cedar Rapids and Marion
Yes you can take it there. Chexk the hours
If you are on disability, you can get help with food and litter, you would need to apply for it. You can call United way at 211 and they will give you the information. Good luck!
You're posting questions to the general public and not to the business. If you have a concern, contact them directly.
He passed away a day after I posted this.
Only if someone brings one in and the price would depend on age, health, and other factors.
There is a cost of 50 per cat if you are in jurisdiction and 100 per if out of. Surrender fee.
Call and ask them. We just did a donation drive at Christmas time and said everything donated was going to the shelter. However it was mostly friends and relatives that donated. But we put up a few tweets and posts on F.B. and we never thought to ask them. They were just very surprised and pleased with all we donated.
Yes
See if someone will take them and take care of tjem for you.
I would call them, you might have to take them to CRACC, depending on where you live.
Most shelters these days don't. I recommend going to a legitimate breeder.
There are some basic requirements and a short class you must attend prior to volunteering (it's offered monthly). If you go to the CVHS website you can submit a volunteer application online and they will get back to you pretty quickly with more info.
You should call them....there are also other shelters in the area...such as last hope animal rescue, and I believe there is also one for pitbulls
We do!
The cat that has been here the longest, Ducky, has been here since September 2017. We currently have 38 cats, 37 dogs, 19 rabbits, and several hundred guinea pigs.
Hi William. We operate as a no-kill facility in that we do not euthanize simply for length of time an animal is at our shelter. We can typically house 40-60 dogs at a time, along with several hundred cats. We have great success placing animals with new families, and so far this year have a live release rate of 98%. The only animals that are euthanized at CVHS are because of non-treatable and lethal illnesses, behavior issues that are not able to be resolved due to training, or court ordered euthanasia.
They do clip animal nails, please call and give them the details, they will advice on the services they offer especially for a larger pet. Hope it works out.
Yes, we can absolutely use the food. Thank you!
Yes, about 200 of them.
7 and up if you aren't 18 yet you have to have a parent/guardian with you.
Hi everyone. Thanks for answering but we do actually take donated medications. Preston CVHS
All of the chinchillas have been adopted.
No. Volunteers must attend a 45 minute orientation and a 30 minute class on handling animals.
You can clean out the cages, walk the dogs, socialize with cats, trail maintainence, help adoption eventa, help organize events. There is a lot. More information is on the website. Or you could also call them. I hoped this helped. ^ - ^
I would definitely call them and ask.
No
You can go online and make an appointment, on the day of you arrive by 7:30am, depending on animal. You fill out an intake form based on animal again. They will go over the details tag your animal and you go. The next morning after surgery, you pick up your animal by 7am. They will go over post operational procedures and you pay based on what was done and take your animal and leave. It was reasonably priced, very professional and pet friendly environment.
Average "fee" $90. They do have a "what can you" pay on cats over a year old. They are a wonderful group of people out there & will help you find what's right for you.
I don't believe there is any cost to surrender a pet. Adoption costs range on several factors.
