Could I raise money from donations, on my own time and use your business ? In other words, Could I go door to door and ask if a person would want to donate ? 100% to your shelter. If so, Could I write a receipt for a tax deductible donation ?

Call and ask them. We just did a donation drive at Christmas time and said everything donated was going to the shelter. However it was mostly friends and relatives that donated. But we put up a few tweets and posts on F.B. and we never thought to ask them. They were just very surprised and pleased with all we donated.
