Great experience, very helpful staff. Their website says you need an appointment but that was not the case (I think it's old out of date possibly during covid). I just walked in and they pointed me in the right direction. Lots of great dogs ready to find a good home.

Small toys for the kitties, plastic pans they can use for kitty litter (maybe 8" X 12"), small, used towels or blankets to make a soft place to lay on. Pups can also use soft things to lay on.
You can take him to Atlanta humane and surrender him. You may have to pay a small fee so that they can pay for his care but they will find him a good home.
I got hurt on my job and had surgery and can no longer take care of my dog. He got all his shot and he's pit and lab mix. Can you take him?

If he's part lab, Atlanta Lab Rescue might take him if Humane Society can't. Best luck to you and your pet.
I cant afford a vet visit as I'm disabled and on set income. Is there help for this sweet cat?

I have used their services for vaccination, spaying and neutering cats in the past. It seems that by now you reach them better online, if you go to their website and check the link to the services which they offer. When they call you back you can explain your situation. There are other organizations that might be able to help. I don't know them personally but I think that they also can help : Paws Atlanta and Lifeline Project. The link to their website is available in Google maps and there might be other resources if you search online.
Do you get homeless dogs ? I have a dog in my neighborhood that's homeless and it's not afraid of people and will go up to your door.

I THINK they take in animals for adoption. They probably ask for a small donation to help with vacc and spay/neuter fees.
They told us 30 days and we could get a different dog if that did not work out. You can surrender the dog anytime back to them but you will lose your money. I agree with the others. It can take time to find the right one. Do research to see what breeds you might like.
Are people allowed to drop in and visit the shelter when they're open or do you have to make an appointment? I couldn't find any information about this on their website.

The availibility of dogs are on the wrbsite. They are not able to hold/save dogs for you. Going to the location is the best idea cause you can actually purchase the dog you want.
If you dont want to go through an automated system, Go to the Atlanta Humane Society office and talk to them. They have rules and regulations about the adoptees they take in. They can also give you advice on where to take them if they cannot. They are very friendly and will give you good advice.

You can take it to your veterinarian and have the cat cremated or have a burial in your back yard.
You might want to go online and check if you need to make an appointment. But there should not be any problem bringing her in. But yes they'll check if she has a chip or not. Great staff they'll be very helpful.
Do you want to surrender the pup or are you wanting AHS to try and fix him and then take him back? You'd have to call and explain exactly what you need to happen. I guarantee that someone there will be able to get the right answer to you. They're open until 7 tonight and then reopen at 11 or noon Saturday. Good luck.
I just adopted an adorable pup from here this past Sat. I found out that she has a brother that must have already been adopted because he wasn’t there this weeked. Is there any way I can find out where he went? I would love to possibly reunite them.

i have a 1 year old german shepherd mix that i can no longer care for, would they be able to take her in?
Sorry about a stranded animal. I hope that you found someone to help you rescue the animal. In a case like that I would call a critter removal company and explain to them to make sure not to harm the animal and to let you keep it. I say that you keep it because they kill any animal they take away, so explain that you are only asking them to remove it from wherever it is stuck.
You would have to go and have a discussion with the manager and fill out paperwork for such.
I have two 6 mo pups that need a new home. The owner moved and cant take them with. I am trying to help find a new home. I cant keep them. Can you take them?

Yes, you can bring them to admissions and surrender them.
You can go back and explain what in your situation has changed since your surrender. You could also adopt them if they are still available. If the surrendered pet has been adopted by someone else then no.
I work with a bulldog rescue and they have had me bring fosters to Atlanta Eye Specialist in Marietta. I'm not sure if they give them a price break but bulldogs have A LOT of eye issues. Good luck!
My family won’t be able to take care of our dog anymore. She is a mix of Pit and Lab and I need to find a new loving home for her. Can you guys take her???

You would probably need to take her to their campus and go through their side intake door and they will examine her and let you know what to do next...

We adopted our beagle mix from a lady who rescued him from Decalb County animal shelter.
He prefers women, is very cuddly & affectionate toward me & most women. He is fearful of most men Including my husband.
Would you be willing to take him?

Go on the website and fill out the surrender paperwork and make an appointment at the shelter closest to you.
Is the dog micro chipped? If so just call the number that services the chip and they can locate him/her for you. If not then you may have to call animal control
