Our stay at Ruttger’s Bay Lake was fun and super relaxing. This is not a fancy place, yet while some upgrades to the grounds and (apparently from the exterior at least, some cabins) would be nice, this did not affect our stay. The atmosphere is relaxing, the grounds and lakefront beautiful, and the staff extremely nice and helpful. We took part in many of the offered activities and enjoyed them all. Breakfast is outstanding and the food at Bear Pine Bar was as great as the view. Pickleball equipment and courts were in excellent shape and so much fun. My family of 4 stayed in a Bay Lake Villa room, which was large, clean, functional, quiet, and had a large, pleasant balcony. Overall a solid lakeside resort.

Resort under new management and it appears making some strides to that end. This year outside pool clean and useable, last year had a green film on it and no mold noted in bathroom. As with most Northern MN resorts help is hard to find. Had breakfast buffet but no dinner buffet due to lack of kitchen staff. Multiple plans for new condos noted. Golf course in good condition.

We love staying at Ruttgers. We have family and friends who live nearby and it's the best place to enjoy time on the lake and nearby towns. Staff did seem overwhelmed, but food and drinks at the lodge were great. Very friendly servers. Cabins are in need of a refresh or complete overhaul. We understood that going in and are excited to see future renovations planned. As a family with small children my one gripe would be the fact that there is no ramp option to get down to the outdoor pool. Most of the resort has ramps, but navigating from the deck down to the pool area is a pain, especially with kids in strollers. If a ramp could make the list for next summer we'd appreciate it!! We'll be back!

Solid experience. Check in was a breeze and the staff was more than willing to go the extra mile. Golf course is a tough play for most. I'm a 10 handicap and found the course challenging yet fun. The rooms were clean and the marina staff was awesome! My one piece of advice is to hold weekly bi weekly trainings on how to exceed expectations. I asked for a coffee one morning in the dining area at 10:45. The response.. "everyone drank it all" I asked for a manager and I had coffee in seconds:) We will be back..

My wife and I rented a 20' pontoon for a couple of hours. We caught some fish, saw some lions up close and toured around 3 of Bay Lake"s beautiful islands. Very reasonable pontoon rates too.
you can call the desk and ask!! I'm sure they would tell you! :)
There are a few pet friendly cabins.
They have the facilities for it. Im guessing they would be happy to work with you.
The pontoon cruises are half an hour long and include a tour around Malkerson Island. The tours usually include a close-up look at loons and a stop at the eagle's nest, plus some lake and resort history. It's fun. If you want a longer cruise, you can rent a pontoon from the marina and tour the lake yourself.

Unfortunately no. That's something we could do in the future, but not this year. Thanks for asking.
