I graduated top of my class in 2011 and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life. I wouldn't be the man I am today without this place forging me with discipline and pride.

My grandson graduated, learned some valuable lessons and this changed his life for the better. He also joined the Army and is doing well. Helped him change his life for the positive. If, you have a child that is going down the wrong path, this is a great program to help turn that around.

This place is very unorganized and the leaders are very unprofessional. They don't care for the well-being of the children. They are not notifying parents or the military Police of the violent incidents going on. They are falsifying reports to try to cover themselves. The director wasn't aware that the kids are making shanks as she so stated. It clearly states on the incident report "Level I- Offense of a serious nature may lead to possible expulsion from the Academy, and referral to the Discipline Board." Well the report states they found a shank on one of the cadets and the cadet was still there!!! The kids are not eating properly, they pushing their trays to the side refusing to eat. The buildings are in very poor condition. Let's not mention they are understaffed, this program couldn't possibly be ran correctly with the amount of staff I counted and the number of cadets there. They are not ensuring the kids seek medical attention when requested. I have written statements, videos, pictures, and text messages to prove everything I know. FROM MY EXPERIENCE ON YESTERDAY IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE A CHILD THERE GO GET YOUR CHILD!!!

16 n it's a great place for kids it really helps
He has to be 16 at least. The only cost is your time, gas, and a list of supplies they will need to carry with them when they go. I roughly spent nearly $800 getting my son there and the required supplies. The school is no charge. Only things you wish to purchase that they may offer.
Hey Rachael, love your name! Wow, that's a good question I would assume so if you didn't 🔥 burn any bridges with the program. Do you have a good relationship with anyone at YCA that you can reach out too?
You can call 706.823.8000 and they will provide you with the information you need.
I would recommending calling 706.823.8000 they can direct you to the correct staff member that can assist you with any questions or concerns. I hope that helps.
The cadets must keep a low haircut. They will receive haircuts by Cadre while in the program.
You can send him to Youth Challenge Academy, no cost to you
Not sure about 13 year olds. YCA takes 16-18 year olds.
Yes it is. You will need to fill out an application. The cadets must be accepted into the program. Call 706.823.8000 for more information.
No
You can call the main office when they come back from break on 3/16/20 at 706-823-8000 and ask.

I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know about 2007, but I do know that a lot of things have changed and it is really fantastic now. It is a truly wonderful program and has helped many young people.

Yes, everyone has to cut their hair.
Ditto to previous comment. however the success of your child will also be dependent on your child's commitment an willingness to the completion of the program. And
female and male cadets are housed separately, are closely monitored and only allowed to interact during Academy activities. 24/7
Hey Tonmy! I believe they have to be 16 to join the program. What area are you in?
Go to their website Youth Challenge Academy depending where you are you can choose Fort Gordon Or Fort Stewart. There is an age limit I believe between 16 1/2 to 18 years old.
