I would do some research on different courses that you can take. Trust me, I thought that I was perfectly ready to take on any Agent or Manager, but the class that I did truly helped perfect little details that made my entire acting 10x better. If your mom still won't listen and says no, tell her that it is a good way to get better at presentations and public speaking. That's what I did, and then I told my parents the real reason and it worked out really well. Hopes this helps!
All real agencies and management companies are free to sign on with. Agencies take 10% of your earnings from every project that you do with them, same with management companies but they take 15%.
