Constantly being harassed by panhandlers! Also on 10-13-2022 around 7:08 AM on the lower level where the bikes load there is "supposed" to be a bomb sniffing dog to deter anything bad from happening, only problem is the dog handler who works for MSA is most of the time outside getting breakfast, camera does not lie,I left the time and date above. Also caused me to miss the ferry a number of time's already,no safety at all!

Fun free NYC attraction. Best way to get closer look at the Statue of Liberty without paying extra for tickets to the statue and less time then if you take the tour. VERY crowded even midday midweek.

The place is very clean and the ferry service is incredible, the best thing is that it is free!
What subway lines do I take from Whitehall Terminal to Grand Central Terminal?

You would take the uptown 4/5 train, located at the Bowling Green Station—2.5 blocks away from the Whitehall St. Staten Island ferry terminal.
Alternatively, once you’ve exited the ferry terminal, you can take the Queensbound 'R' train to 42nd street, and transfer to either the shuttle (S) or 7 train to Grand Central.
No there is no free parking. In fact I would recommend that you use public transportation when you are coming in to use the Ferry. Parking area even if available in nearby areas are bound to be very expensive.
Depending on what side u r on,if u r on the side of staten island,930am 1000 1030 and so on by side 10am 1030 11 and so on,if u r a tourist I will say from 10am till 2pm less crowded
I dont recommend to go in car. Street parking will be difficult or impossible, so look for a good rate on a lot or consider parking in NJ near the PATH train or a ferry stop.
And from Staten island to Manhattan. But if you re asking about further destinations, then no. The ferry has only one track : Manhatten - Staten Island
If you are traveling from Manhattan and want to see the statue of liberty and return back... You just have to get off the ferry at Staten Island terminal and go back into the boarding area and board the next ferry. It will drop you back to Manhattan ferry terminal.
