You only have to pay to get on the beach. if you want to see the fort then you tell the toll person and they let you in.
To sightsee.no. if you park in the beach lots and go on the beach, it's 20.00 a car.
You can swim at the designated beaches in both Sandy Hook and the Fort Hancock area just north of Sandy Hook
