If you can go here you should go here. We swung by during off hours and the owner was there doing some odds and ends. She is an extremely kind and friendly person and was nice enough to give us a quick walkthrough and info. It's obvious that this is a project of love for her and her family and the building is simply beautiful on the outside. The inside is a work in progress but it is definitely worth going inside if you're able to. Just during our quick visit we had a couple of "events" that gave us a hair raising. The property outside of the building is also amazing and just walking through the grounds you get a small taste of an older time that many people want to touch and experience. Well worth a visit!

Loved it here! I hope they get the opportunity to finish the place so we can tour the entire building. Very beautiful house! We had an awesome time here. And got lots of super cool souvenirs!

Such a cool place! We stopped by to admire from a distance and were told by the grandson of the owners we could walk around. You can really feel the history of this place and tell they are doing a lot to restore it to its prime. Hopefully one day they can get it restored enough so we can pay for a tour but until then, respect the property. Check out their website, you can help donate towards the restoration and schedule group tours of the outside.

Yes, it's a very small parking area. The driveway looks like it is shared by the house next door. Parking spaces for maybe 6 or 7 cars.
The building is still condemned so only the grounds and cellar are available
There are stories but the current owners have never found any. I think that story started when one of the last owners let people just go in and take whatever they wanted. So in a way - treasure lol
It was listed $5 but tours are only of the tunnels on the property discovered in recent past yrs
Yes. Claire; give me a call and I. Can introduce you to the owners, I worked with them.
It is private property so I wouldn't advise it
They do turn the lights off for about a half hour or so in the cellar. If your child is scared of the dark it would be scary. And there is definitely some kind of paranormal experiences down there.
Yes we do have a few. It may not be the same DVD as your brother's. It's been a while since we have been able to obtain more copies. If you call the Mansion, the owner Sharyn can give you the best answer.
I think the easiest answer to that question is that the family was attached enough to their house to still be back to haunt it. But who really knows why any building is haunted so I doubt anyone could really offer a good answer. In my humble opinion until we can investigate the entire house we probably won't know everything that's there or why. It's a very cool house though!
Thanks for the interest and encouragement. The work being done currently is only small-scale, specialized woodworking, most presently, corbels 40 feet up under the eaves. The interior is actually in such bad repair, it's quite unsafe, so the owners aren't able to have many people inside. When the repairs get further along, though, I'll definitely pass along the idea. Thanks, again.
