Spent the weekend in the cabins for my mom's birthday. The cabins are very nice & they have recently opened the new restrooms with showers near the cabins. We enjoyed a hike and multiple trips to the lake. Will return again next year for my mom's birthday weekend.

Great family gathering place. Lots of awesome amenities i.e. canoe rentals, gorgeous planet friendly cabins, and great people

Great location. Quiet, clean, wooded state park. It is very small but perfect for that weekend getaway. Small lake is stocked with Trout, Bass, Crappie, Perch. The swimming area is small but clean. The water is spring fed so the temperature stays constant and cool. Bring your own firewood. Cabins are cozy but spacious.

Fort Boggy is a small state park at its best. I stayed in one of their cabins with my family of four. The cabins and public restrooms are the cleanest of any park I've visited in Texas. There are a couple of disabled access cabins but know that you can't park at your cabin. The showers are outdoor showers too. There is a new restroom block that hasn't opened yet and could well have showers. We hiked, biked, went fishing and wished we'd taken canoes because the lake is gorgeous. Our kids checked out Junior Rangers Backpacks from the Ranger office and had fun earning their ranger badges. Our kids are 7 and 8 and really enjoyed the ranger led night hike. They learned about the park critters and night time noises. We played games to learn about our own senses at night too. It was great for kids, teenagers and grown-ups too. A day trip to three days is a good time for this park.

When we visited it was first come first serve
Yes. Since this lake is inside the park's boundary, fishing license is not required. Anyways, have a word with ranger for more specific requirements.
I believe the park is open everyday.
It's limited use cabins (cause you have to walk to restrooms) that you pay $85 per night to reserve through website and $100 deposit when you arrive. It's also $3 per person park admission for each person over the age 12. I've rented the cabins a few times, they're nice. 5 sleep inside and 3 in the closed in patio/ porch.
You can get a day pass for picnicking. If you want to stay over night then it requires reservation. Day use cost $3 for person above 12 year old. Cabin Night stay cost $85.
Hours open daily 6am to 10 pm Please use the online reservation system for booking in advance even for day use/ entrance fee.
Outlets yes, but not fireplaces yet
The cabins are about a 5-7 minute walk from the lake depending on which one you are staying in. To access the cabins you park in the parking lot and go down wooden stairs across a small bridge then back up a few more wooden stairs then you reach the first two cabins. You will cross the parking lot to get to the lake.
There are five cabins for rent. Bathroom facilities on site but none of the cabins have a bathroom. The cabins themselves are all really nice.
I think it was 180 for the weekend
Yes
I've caught 2 small bass there so far, but someone told me that caught one that was pretty big. It's mostly perch though, and on occassion blue catfish.
Yes. But cabins are new and gives different experience :) I think it is $85 per night
Seriously doubt it. This is a state park.
Probaly shallow the only deep lakes in Texas is canyon and travis

When we was building the cabins the outside area where the picnic tables are i believe was to be a tent pad also they do have primitive tent sites but its a walk to get to them
Bass and bream and bluegill catfish
It's just okay you can only use 1 fishing pole and the fish are small.
