Founded in 1945 as Congregation Kehilath Jacob and renamed the Carlebach Shul in honor of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, zt"l, known worldwide as "the singing Rabbi." Very beautiful aron kodesh and synagogue. Photos can be seen in the book, "Ten Times Chai: 180 Orthodox Synagogues of New York City."
