The Hope Lodge of NYC is a beacon of hope, love and care. The workers and volunteers go beyond the extra mile to make you feel safe, welcome and appreciated. The facilities are excellent and the location is exceptionally centric.

What an amazing facility to have available. This location is filled with positives. Great location to Penn Station. The Hope Lodge is extremely clean and peaceful. The staff are kind and caring. There are many resources available to not only the patient but also the caregiver.

Agree with the answer above. The shuttle is great help but the hours are limited and only going to 1275 York or Koch Clinic.
I have a question is this available for only long term stays? I'm asking because my husband has an app at sloan on the 23rd and we live 6 hrs away.. his app isn't till 3pm and that would be to much for him for us to drive down and home on the same day
I've been fortunate and been allowed to stay at Hope Lodge on and off since 2014. Fantastic place, fantastic staff!!! If you're staying at Hope Lodge, you don't need a car for anything: there are shuttles to hospitals, and subway, trains and busses are virtually just outside the door. If you need a car to get there, find somewhere cheap to park, somewhere outside the city center, and leave your car there for the entire stay. Better still: if you're going to stay for some time, get there by public transport and rent a car in the city to get out and away whenever you need to...
If at all possible, I would recommend leaving the car at home. Hope Lodge runs regular free shuttle service to and from Sloan. Traffic is ridiculous (and I lived in NYC for 30 years!) and roads are worse than ever, with potholes and repair crews everywhere. Parking anywhere in Manhattan is insanely expensive. Count on a minimum $30 a day plus tax & tip, if you're lucky & reserve in advance. Check rates on SpotHero.com. or ParkWhiz.com. I also found this, but have no idea hiyw "for real" it is: https://www.airportparking.top/faq.html As suggested above, check with the hospital about parking policies. I was told some people drove in, dropped off the patient at Hope, and drove the car out to one of the park-and-fly lots near LaGuardia & took the bus & subway or cab back to Manhattan. Sounded convoluted to me.
As a patient, cancer only and there are no costs! Good luck Phyllis!
