Superb food and a quirky, interesting setting. Great service and an all round great night out.

Really like the place! I would describe it as chaotic enjoyment 👍. Bar staff were quick to serve and atmosphere was enjoyable.

Cool little shop with a long history. It dates back to 1817 and is said to be one of the oldest bars in New York. I sat outside and was therefore only able to enjoy the quaint shop inside for a short time. The waitress was very friendly and the burger delicious. My American host probably wanted to do me a favor with the German beers. Next time. 😉

I think it's worth going if you appreciate historic buildings. Its also refreshingly simple and unpretentious in a city where those qualities are increasingly rare. The weather can be nice in August but you will likely encounter at least a couple days when it will be hellishly hot and humid. Think 35 celsius with a humidity index over 40. Those are good days for museums etc to avoid the heat. Have fun!
The place has speakers and tv installed..no loud music though... The place is extrememly good to watch games though!!
The restaurant/bar is the ground floor. The whole old building is 3-4 stories.
