Smuggler's Den was fantastic! My friends and I had a wonderful stay. I appreciated the easy check-in process with clear directions and resources (map, reservation, etc.) The camp store was convenient and helpful, and the bathrooms/showers were clean. The grounds were kept really well, and someone would drive by offering firewood which I thought was a nice gesture.

Great camping spot a and everything is very well kept. Camp store has a good bit to offer if you are in a pinch and forgot some of the little things. Pool was heated and was a good temperature compared to the outside air (68°). Bathrooms and showers were very clean and one of the best/cleanest in my experience. The campsites themselves were clean and clear. Playground area was great and even had sports gear like baskeyballs and volleyball to play. Definitely on my top 5 list of campgrounds I've stayed at.

While it rained for each of the two full days that we were at Smuggler's Den, we made the best of it. The heated pool was really appreciated! The camp store is open from 8 AM to 8 PM, they have ice, fire wood and other essentials, though a trip to a store 1/2 a mile down the road is needed for most food items. The bathhouse is clean and well maintained. As a bonus, there is a 3 section stainless steel wash sink for dishes, pots and pans this makes camp cooking much easier to manage. We'll be glad to return on our next, longer hopefully less rainy trip to Acadia National Park.

Great camp ground. Staff is super friendly. Bathhouse is very clean. Sites are decent size. Only weird thing is they sell giant blocks of ice instead of cubes? Kinda hard to chip off ice and put in your drink. Other than that, great place and great location.

Yes! Pets are allowed, however we encourage campers to be vigilant that their pets do not disturb others. Pets need to be on a visible leash at all times, and must be accompanied by a responsible adult capable of attending them while being walked. Be responsible: pick up after your pets. No pets are permitted in the pool area.
Motor vehicles are allowed on the road but at a speed no faster than 5 mph. Private golf carts and other motorized vehicles are not permitted on the property. Bicyclists must wear helmets. Bicycle riding is not permitted after dark.
Enjoying the great outdoors is best when everyone does their part. Follow good camping etiquette: respect your campsite, observe quiet time, respect other campers’ space, and be considerate of others during the entirety of your stay. Some other tips to follow include not leaving out any food, as it could attract animals to your campsite, and not bringing your own firewood from home, as you could carry insects and disease from your firewood into the local forest. By following these tips, you can not only make the best of your own camping experience, but also help create positive memories for the campers that follow.
