Absolutely absurd, terrifically titillating, preposterous, provocative, an all out laugh fest. Simply fun and totally free.

Just finished the 7-week 101 class. Loved it! I credit my amazing instructor (AJ) and my classmates who were fun and welcoming. We were given a safe space to practice letting loose, being silly, making bold decisions, and most importantly, being present to what the other person(s) are doing/saying. My intention for signing up for the class was to have FUN and get more comfortable expressing myself, and the class checked both boxes. I am going to sign up for 201.

The performance was AMAZING. I'm even thinking about taking a class.
yup nope
Free comedy shows every night of the week! They're really fun people. I took my ten year old to a Friday show and he had an absolute blast. They allow the audience to participate in their scenes, which is so special.

There's no food available at the theater but there are plenty of places nearby to eat! You can either grab a bite before a show or you could grab something to-go (for instance, Sofi's Crepes is next door) and bring it into the theater to eat!
Yes. They teach improv classes which help with performing
Most improv comedy shows at The BIG Theater are intended to be PG-13. On Fridays at 8pm, BIG Time aims to create an entirely family friendly show in language and content. Shows at the theater are technically open to all ages. We recommend patrons be 16 and up for most shows while others aim to be family friendly. Reach out for a personal recommendatiosn as to which shows are best for your family. While we do not enforce an age restriction on any particular show, parents and guardians please be advised that any show may contain strong language and adult subject matter.
Free show always!
Yes, they have a teen improv troop, teen summer camp and monthly classes. I am not sure if the teen programs are listed on their website, so call them for details. I believe they are holding auditions for the teen improv troop in June.
Station North – the arts district, and neighborhood of our noble theater – has a lot of options. The nearest restaurants that we frequently visit ourselves include pizza at Joe Squared, crepes at Sofi's Crepes, Spanish tapas at Tapas Teatro, “fancy” versions of bar food at Pen & Quill, and Jong Kak & Nak Won – Korean bbq restaurants.

At its core, improv is really about communication. The exercises that we use to teach people how to create scenes from nothing on stage in front of large audiences rely on communication exercises. You've got to be a great communicator to be a great improviser. You've got to be a great listener. You’ve got to be able to communicate a message clearly because if you can't do those things you can't build a scene together. We use the same exercises to come into your office and address any soft skill you think your employees should be focusing on. That includes communication, customer service, presentation skills, creativity, leadership, storytelling, and of course team building.
Yes, we have free shows every night of the week. We're a nonprofit and offer this as part of our mission to serve the Baltimore community with our love of improv comedy.
