Took my students on a brief field trip to this museum and we all enjoyed it. Lots of local Civil War history with an abundance of artifacts on display like old uniforms, war torn flags, and lots of rifles! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The museum is all on one level and they have a small gift shop with books, flags, stickers, etc. Photography is not allowed in the museum itself. Free, on-street parking available and the museum is in close proximity to several other interesting destinations like the Warren Heritage Society and the Virginia Beer Museum.

Many years ago, my family and I visited a Civil War museum in Front Royal. I do not remember the name of the museum, but it could have been Warren Rifles Confederate Museum. What I do remember was a ring carved from a peach pit. Sound familiar?

We are not open for tours, yet. We open officially April 15. However, we are having a speaker, Scott Mingus on April 7 at 7 pm. He will speak on the 2nd Battle of Winchester in 1863. The museum will be open that evening. Admission is 5.00 a person, students are free. We have some discounts. If you read all of the exhibit cards and the letters, you might stay for over an hour and half. We are open from 9 to 4 Monday to Sat. And noon to 4 on Sunday.
