Some of the tent sites are tiny and out in the open while some are in a little forest alcove. We had one in the forest, so it was nice and large. The showers and bathrooms (especially at the top pool) need to be taken care of better, but it was the only site around that we could find with showers. Really close to the Blue Pool and waterfalls.

Belknap has so much potential but falls short on so many levels. First of all our room was not clean. The mattress was super squeeky and not comfortable. The bottom sheet was not put on the mattress correctly, it didn’t even cover our feet area. It also wasn’t clean, we found men hair in our bed that was not ours. The tile in the bathroom had black mold all over it. And there were cobwebs in every corner of the room. As for the soaking, the pools and water feel great. We stayed in the lodge and therefore had breakfast available to us. Which consisted of packaged everything in a really low quality grade of food. I would recommend bringing your own food and snacks. The management could do so much better. The secret garden is beautiful and worth checking out. I am looking forward to coming back in a month to soak and see all the flowers blooming but not necessarily looking forward to staying in the lodge again.

It would have been helpful if you had signs of some sort regarding the age change. We drove 90 miles to visit a place we’ve been LONG time patrons of and were met with horrible customer service today. There was no reason to anticipate an age change for patrons. My youngest is 2 weeks from being 5 years old and we were very extremely coldly turned away by front desk staff. I am a long time aquatic professional (12 years, pool manager now) and understand rules are rules to a lot of extents but we drove the miles from almost Roseburg to this lovely spot we’ve always known for a very special occasion today. I was so disappointed by the service I received and I absolutely will NOT be returning. The utter lack of compassion was frustrating and disheartening. For your future patrons, I recommend adequate signage on the premises to educate people on policy change to, number one, protect your ill-prepared front desk staff from the conflict that might arise (since they clearly have inappropriate customer service training), and two, to provide a ‘the sign says… and here’s why’ foundation for those ill-prepared front desk staff. My child, whose birthday is 2 weeks away from being 5, and whom with we chose today to celebrate our shared birth month, cried the entire way home. I’m really sad and mad. I’ll be sure to tell all my friends of this experience, whom with I’ve always shared previously what a lovely spot you’ve been historically.

Spending some vacation time exploring the McKenzie River, looking for cool hotsprings to soak in, and I found this interesting resort. I need to do more research on this place, but it looks to me like it was created for well-to-do folks to feel like they are camping in the woods without having to rough it at all. We didn't end up soaking in the pool, but we did take a walk around the grounds and was impressed by the gardens (which were dormant for the Winter). I didn't expect much but was impressed by the concrete work and the old power station that seems in a bit of disrepair. Since exploring, I'll have to come back in the Spring or Summer to see everything in full bloom, which I'll bet is quite the treat.
