I wish the governor would reassign this entire staff. The Leon county office has the worst customer service ever. They talk in a matter like it's there money helping pay your bills. They NEVER RETURN phone calls and when they do answer the phone it's instant attitude. Its really unfortunate that people facing crisis have to also deal with the likes of people who come to work to not WORK. They are very unorganized, example my intake specialists was no longer employed with the agency and never reached out to me to inform me that my emails and phone calls and documents were no longer valid and I would have to reapply AFTER ALL my documents were submitted. Then after reapplying now it's ohhhhhhh I'll get to it when I get to it. They need to close this nonprofit and open another one because this agency is very unprofessional.

These people are horrible. Only certain case workers actually care what you are going through. I literally sent in my application and all my information and they take there time and never respond to you. I kept checking my status by emailing, texting, and calling my case worker but it seemed as though she was ignoring me. Finally my utility due date came and i kept asking why wasn’t anything done or why she wouldn’t give me an update. Finally my lights where turned off and still nobody responds. I thought this place was supposed to be helpful? Instead im in heat with my power off begging for a response. Do better Community Action.

Copy of lease, SS Card for everyone in the house, proof of any and all income and finialy your utility bill.
They open at 8 am BUT ! you can do your application on line (cacaa) have all your documents and upload them then submit your application and you should get a call within 24-48 hrs OR You can call starting at 3:45 pm Monday - Friday until you get a live agent then they'll schedule you an appointment to bring in all your required documents. It is kind of hard to get through but you got to keep calling once they open the phone lines...
They STAY busy trying to help Florida citizens. . Ijs. my opinion... it took a while and lots of patience. But I received the help I needed.

No we have two hand outs that have all the food banks on the area.
Hi Tricia comunity action may be able to help you but to my knowledge not with money.It wouldnt hurt to arrange an appointment.My suggestion is to get to the kearney center where they have resources for people with exactly your problem. Echo will provide you with food and furniture.Ability First may be able to help you with decent housing.Kearney center first to get you off the street , food , resources.Ive been where you are at.it takes a little work on your part but worth it.Good luck honey.
If you have children under 5 yrs old or elderly call between 3:45pm - 4:45pm Monday-Friday all month to get an appointment. If you have neither call the last two weeks of the month I believe.
I believe they are more a job based agency. I don't know if they help with housing assistance.
