Well worth it if you can handle up close views of snakes and spiders. So many different ones and many active.

The animals were beautiful. Not just rattlesnakes, but other snakes, lizards, and a scorpion. They also had hybrids and rare colored snakes. They also had a shop at the beginning/end with some interesting items. The non-living exhibits are hard to read and easily missed. It is also cramped so be careful to go on days without to many people and avoid tourist season.

Yes, we do several hundred reptile and amphibian rescues each year. However, we can't take water turtles for lack of space for proper aquatic enclosures. You might try the Turtle and Tortoise Society here in Albuquerque or perhaps a pet store that could re-home your turtle. You could also try listing it on Craigslist but don't just give it away. You want a good home for her, not someone who would take her just because she's free. Don't ask a lot, just enough to discourage those few. Thanks for not releasing her into the wild. She's not a New Mexico species and might not do well in our climate. Hope it goes well... Bob
After a full year closed, the Rattlesnake Museum has reopened! Initially, the Museum is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11:30 to 5:30. (Closed other days for disinfecting and animal maintenance.). Hopefully, we'll be opened additional days by summer. Tickets can be purchased on premises. Can't wait to see you! It's been a difficult 12 months...
Doubtful many states now protect their rattlesnake populations. Both timber rattlesnakes and Massasaugas sre protected in Wisconsin.
