I was pleasantly surprised to see a Denny’s is still on Newtown Road, Va Beach. It’s been a while since I been in the area. But I remember there was a location directly across from the current location. People if you haven’t tried the pancakes at this location (salute to the 2:30 pm cook) they were the fluffiest cakes I’ll had in awhile. It was a cloud of pancake heaven, yet formed in a circle. Go try them for yourself. You mouth will thank you. The server, like most places…there are usually one. He (host, server, cashier), Robert P….was attentive, well mannered and assisted everyone in a timely manner. Price…very reasonable.

The staff wasn’t paying much attention to anyone in the restaurant, I and many others waited a long time for food. I saw my food sitting at the kitchen counter for a good 15 min before it was brought to me (it was almost cold), my friend asked for silverware but waited 10+ minutes before having to seek it out himself. Very disappointed as I used to come here all the time before COVID

This was my first time at a Denny's I got the Customizable grand slam breakfast this morning for veterans day, and the service was good and the food was prepared exactly how I requested. The staff was kind and courteous. As a first time customer I'll for sure go back.

The good: The pancakes, hash browns, and bacon were good. The fries (I tried some) were okay, and the chicken strips were fine according to the 13 year old with me. I didn’t particularly like the chicken strips (I tried some), but they were fresh. Overall, the food was good but nothing special. The bad: The seat (booth) were we sat was very sticky. We literally had the sound and feel of being stuck when we stood up. The waitress wasn’t too attentive, but she was friendly. (Note: This visit was during the worker shortage and you could tell they were short handed.)
