After filing a police report about a stolen bike, I found that bike on OfferUp. When I contacted the police department to get involved with the recovery of the bike I was told that "Detectives do not handle thefts where the value is under $2000, your best bet was to contact the thief directly to arrange the recovery of the bike yourself". I understand that there are a lot bigger cases in Philly than a missing bike, but why bother taking the time to file a report and take my statement if you aren't going to help in the recovery of the bike after that?

Officer issued me a parking ticket, clearly in error. I was towed and fined heavily. I had a valid permit and no temporary signs were posted. I called twice to speak with either the officer who wrote the ticket or a supervisor but got nowhere. I was told I had to take my case to PPA, that it was out of their hands. I was dismissed and told "that's the best advice I can give you" when I made the point that I needed the officer to acknowledge the mistake IN ORDER to best make my case with PPA. This department doesn't seem to hold its own accountable. I expect this would be the case with a more significant case as well.

Just dial 911 and tell them your problem. They will send someone out..
Fraud reports are made from your home address, you can call 911 and they will send an officer to you. Low priority so you might have to wait awhile
Go to the district and talk to desk Sergeant
