Worked with Leo to get a trademark. Forward and honest with thorough explanation. Responds in a timely manner. Very satisfied with results.

I came to Leo over 2 years ago with an idea and a prototype. He was very upfront with me and honest. He made it clear, after a patent search, that it was worth applying for a utility patent on my product. He handled all aspects of the application and was prompt to answer my questions. I am happy to say that we now have been granted a utility patent. I completely trust his judgement and recommend his services. I look forward to using him again for my next product.

I am a veteran entrepreneur (30+ years) and have worked with Leo for over a year to achieve 2 trademarks. He is the ultimate professional, providing detailed and supportive guidance throughout the process. Highly responsive and always on top of things. He has gone above and beyond his role to ensure my success. Highly recommend.

Why Register A Trademark? There is no requirement to register all trademarks that are used in commerce. Trademarks used in commerce that have not been registered can be denoted with a “™” symbol after the mark (this is called a common law trademark), rather than a “®” symbol reserved for registered marks that appear in the USPTO registry. However, federal trademark registration has several advantages: (1) a notice to the public of the registrant’s claim of ownership of the mark, (2) a legal presumption of ownership nationwide, and (3) the exclusive right to use the mark on or in connection with the goods or services set forth in the registration. Many states offer state-level trademark protection. However, it is not better than the federal trademark protection because it is limited to the state, and federal trademark protection has broader scope. With valid, registered trademarks you can prevent the importation of infringing goods into the United States.
