Finally, the day arrived when my husband could officially retire from the Navy. Once we received his orders, we needed our new I.D. cards. We tried to get them from our local base (MacDill in South Tampa), but they did not have openings for over three months. Research helped us discover that we could get into the JAX NAS DEERS office without delays, so we made the 3-hour 10-minute drive from the Tampa area to Jacksonville. After checking in, we only had to wait 43 minutes to be seen and were greeted by the nicest person. Larry Brown processed the paperwork and created new I.D. cards for both of us quickly and easily. His friendly smile and outgoing demeanor made the process enjoyable. We highly recommend making the drive to the JAX NAS office. Perhaps you'll get to interact with Larry Brown, too. He's an asset to that office and a blessing to know.

If I could give a rating higher than 5 stars I would. I needed to enroll my wife in DEERS. After several attempts to find other facilities and being told they don't take walk ins and even then I had to wait 3 months for an appointment I'm extremely thankful for the service I received. A special thanks to Larry Brown who was prompt, courteous, and processed the DEERS request in 5 minutes, along with her first ID card.

I originally went to Mayport PSD with my husband for a new ID and for DEERS enrollment. We were immediately turned away by the rude worker there named Chris. His excuse was that we didn’t have the right paperwork. I knew this was incorrect, so I called NAS PSD and was told that THEY accept the paperwork I had. Clearly “Chris” didn’t know what he was talking about. We drove over to the office and I received my ID and was enrolled in DEERS that same day. The front staff and the man at station 1 who took care of us were all very nice!
