After an inspection revealed the need for a new roof, we were able to schedule an appt. quickly. The crew arrived on time and got to work promptly. They were hard workers, courteous, respectful of our property. They did a great job and cleaned up very well. Storm Guard handled the communication with the insurance company which was a very positive point for us.

I chose Storm Guard after meeting Justin at a job Storm Guard was awarded at my Optimist Club. He was very friendly and made a very informative presentation to the Optimist Club. It kept me informed on the process, and everything ran smooth

I called Justin Leicht, with Storm Guard of Apex/Cary, to come over to the Garner Optimist Club to provide an estimate for repairs on a small building on the outskirts of the main buildings. When he arrived he noticed some damage on the main buildings as well as some other smaller buildings for storage etc. At his suggestion we contacted our insurance company and arranged for them to meet him onsite. At that meeting it was decided that all 7 roofs on the property needed to be replaced, and the insurance would cover the costs due to hail storm damage a month or so earlier. So what started as a simple roof repair (and several thousand dollars out of pocket) we got new roofs and gutters on all our buildings for less than we would have spent on the original roof repair.

Many homeowner insurance policies cover roof leaks as long as the cause is something that is specified in the plan. These usually include events such as storms, vandalism, excess weight, fire, and other situations. Insurance policies are less likely to cover leaks when they are caused by lack of maintenance or wear and tear.

A roof inspection helps you catch small problems before they become big. By the time you can see leaks on your ceiling, chances are you already have a large amount of damage.

Most homeowners insurance policies will cover roof repairs if the damage was the result of something unpreventable such as storms, burglary, or an accident. Your insurance may also cover some repairs that are the result of general wear and tear, but these are less likely to be fully covered.
