We’ve camped at Poplar Point on 6 occasions since March 2022. We’ve loved every minute of it! The sites are private enough and the lake and eagles are gorgeous. The staff at the park are friendly and helpful. Specifically, I want to thank the older lady (sorry I don’t know her name) at the gate house. We looked forward to seeing her on every trip! She always made us laugh with her quick wit while checking us in and making us feel welcome. She’s like added benefit to our experience and we’ll miss her if she ever leaves.

Great campground, especially midweek and in September when just a few sites in our loop were taken. The only disappointment was a weekend night when a very large family occupied just one site near the bathroom/showers and very young kids were allowed by adults to trash the toilet area - they pulled toilet paper out, locked stalls and crawled out under the doors. Total lack of respect.

Yes I have showers I think it's a very nice
30A 50A and 110v
Yes but you are required to pick up the dogs poop if it has a bowel movement on the ground or in the water. There are signs that say, if you have a big dog it must be teethered to a tree or on a leash. They are not allowed to walk around unless on a leash. Rangers are everywhere and they enforce!
You also need a fishing license...they did have rangers checking when I was there in July
Not sure we rented the whole week, and loved every minute of it.
Yes! There are grills that can be used anytime. As long as you reserve the area, it's free to use. Hope this helped, and HAPPY VIBES!!
Don't bring your own firewood unless it's store bought. There are invasive bugs that you could introduce to the park and cause serious problems. Don't bring your own! There are grills around the park and fire pits at each campground if you're camping. (I work for NC State Parks)

U can swim anytime but there is life guide and facilities at summer
Yes. In certain designated area for play area, they may not be allowed. It is a pet friendly Park . They have to be on leash at all time.
Ebenezer boat ramp is the only area that is 24 hours
They publish 14 days but if you go to non reservation area all you have to do is move sites after 14 days
We have always made reservations, as the campground tends to get busy on the weekends. If you want a water side site, you should book ahead. I don't know if its year round.
Yes...I think the park allows 3 tents per site.. It's on the rules and regulations page of their website
Depends on the campground is what we were told. Some are open 24 hours
I believe you can do the full 14 days then just stay a day extra to rinse and repeat as in relocate to a different section. I didn't see anyone going around to check but ya never know. Nonetheless. If they do you can just say you forgot and move on, no harm no foul right? 🤫
Not really bike trails but the campground loops are all connected by paved roads and hiking trails
I did see others with generators, so I think you are ok, as long as you follow quiet time rules.
You can go online or call also. But they habe non reservation sites. Reservation sites are in certain sections.
It appears to be very close to accurate from when I was up there and when I booked matched.
Bath houses are scattered throughout the campgrounds and are usually very clean.
tend sites are usually available same day. call first
Loop E is always first come as far as I know. I've also been twice in the last two months and E was almost full both times. You might be better off doing a reservation.
It is about 30 a day. You can stay up to 14 days and they have plenty of sites but get very busy on Holiday weekends.
I Had the same question a while back, the anwser short anwser is No, unless its street legal, with license plate and insurance. Mopeds / and scooters are the same. Basically just bicycle's are ok and oh you can't fly a drone either. Best thing to do is call 📞 them.
Yes, but the water has been turned off on each individual campsite.
No not at this time
No. Its a state park
Beaches are not open but there are some secluded spots
Yes they do.
Beaches still closed, bath house open in loops c and f. Couldn't say about others.
I was in Loop C this past weekend and I did not see a site that you would be able to use
They have parking spaces at the gatehouse.
Go to Jordan lake recreation site. You can make reservations on that site. Different campgrounds for Jordan lake will show up. Please be aware they are not letting people in until 4pm day of check in. They started letting people do walk ins today but the loop is E. If you do a walk in you can get in early. Which reservations is not needed.
33.00 per night
Yes.
All of the camp GROUNDS have water sites. Not all sites are waterfront.
Poplar Point gates do not close this weekend.
Yes they have to be on a tie out or in a fence and on a leash when you walk them. If you leave them on a tie out just remember quite hours are after 10 and they can't be barking and making a lot of noise.
Yes, but there isn't a designated spot for your boat at campsite, kind of first come first serve for boat parking. This is at Popular Point, not sure about other campgrounds.
Yes,in reservation areas, E section is 30 amp, E is first come sites, no reservation just pick site then pay.
It's 33 dollars per night. 66 for the weekend. We love it!
Sleeping your car isn't really camping, but if that's where you choose to sleep at least you will be near your friends. The campsites are at least 40 yards from the parking lot.
I think our check on was 3:00pm Our checkout I think was 12:00 pm.
Yes
Im sure you have to be 18,,,, for legal purposes, ya know
I believe it is $20 a night this time of year
Generally, the parks open at dawn and close at sunset. To be sure, it will be open for at least 8.
Now
I don't know who you would get hold of for that. I would Google which area you want to be in and reservations.
Certain areas are closed due to flooding....but mostly open.
Please visit visitor center
It varys by site.. electric nonelectric location call the park office between 9 to 4 or use the online reservation system it will tell you prices. Also be aware the lake is currently at floodstage so many sites are underwater.
Best to go to nc state parks website and pull up specific park, then look at hours by season (months)
Day Use Areas May-August: 8am to 9pm September, October, March, April: 8am to 8pm November-February: 8am to 6pm Campgrounds May-September : 8am to 10pm March, April and October: 8am to 9pm November-February: 8am to 8pm Closed Christmas Day
I never heard about a range there. It's not a smart place to shoot off of a range
Yes at Seaforth. On weekends it costs $7.00 a car but during the week it's free. They have a small playground, volleyball court, swimming with a really nice beach area and fishing. You have to have a NC fishing license though to fish. They have picnic tables with a grill also. We go there all the time.
I'm not really sure. But an other camper might. Everybody is really nice.
Yes. There are no docks in that area. Bring bug spray!
The designated areas for swimming around the beach areas are roped off in the lake for your safety. $6 gets you into the park. Be advised: There is not a lifeguard.
I'm sure there is you can always ask the person at the entrance and they can tell you Poplar point if I'm not mistaken does not lock gate
Yes you cani paid at i:30pm and didnt break camp until 3pm the next day. You allowed six adults per camp site, plus two vehicles. Also had three tents set up in one site.
The dam
I would really reccomend good shoes for swimming in. The water is pretty murky and I've injured myself while swimming barefoot before.
Not sure, we had just 2 adults and 2 dogs, but we had guests every night of up to 5 people extra.
I would expect the main entrance into the park, where my husband @I paid for our lots, however I do not know if season passes are available at jordan lake. The internet maybe a option in purchasing the pass.
Parker's creek, has a playground as well for the kids.
Here is open from 8 to 6 I think but best time is afternoon because the water is cold in the morning
We stayed saturday night only for $21 on May 5, 2018. Check-in was at 4pm and check-out was at 3pm the next day
Carolina beach state park has cabins. Electric no water. Very cute.
There is cell service, so you could use a hot spot, but there is no public Wi-Fi. There is plenty of good family time to be had, though.
Please call the wildlife parks service for that information
50 amp service is being installed now. Call to check on availability.
NC State parks limit camping in one site or park to 14 consecutive days in a 30 day period. Campers must vacate the park for 16 days before returning.
Yes it was created by jordan lake dam. When the water level is low you can see some of the old roads that used to be there.
The site itself is never closed as long as you check-in before they gate closes... which I believe it's 8-9pm depending on the season. Even after the gate closes, you can still go in and out of the campgrounds if you aready have your tag.
Eels be growing big cuz they trapped in the lake
They have year round sites but water is cut off during winter months
I am not really sure, because my family and I just went there for the day.
If you are camping, there is a nightly charge. However one day when I was camping, my parents visited and they didn't have to pay an admission fee.
Yes, there are beaches at the campgrounds and several public beaches.
