Parker's creek, has a playground as well for the kids.
Crossroads used to also, but Parker's Creek offers more.
Poplar Point had a "beach" and it was pretty exclusive.
You can use the public swimming places like at Crosswinds and other camp sites, but there will be a small entry fee. Check out the website or Google Maps to see the many entrances.
Poplar Point is a great one. Another little known spot is where 64 crosses the Haw River. It's a little more private (at least it was until i posted this).

Been swimming there over 40 years, all of the access points are terrific.
Latasha, personally it's been awhile since I've been here, but I think it costs around $6 per car to get in during weekdays and $7 during the weekends.
