My son was airlifted to Erlanger twice within a 2 weeks period for massive GI bleeds. I was allowed to stay in the ER with him and from appearances, they didn’t seem to be doing much. But since he survived what was considered Impossible, there was obviously a lot going on behind the scenes that I didn’t see! There was an old patient’s gastric tube that was used and laying under his stretcher so the cleaning leaves something to be desired. Having worked ICU for many years, I realize that during multiple emergency situations cleanup is not the priority though. I would rather have him laying on a used stretcher as opposed to not being cared for until they had the time thoroughly clean. The ICU staff was amazing. I truly feel that they saved his life. Twice. And I am eternally thankful. As far as outpatient services go, everyone was so nice and helpful. An extra special mention goes to ‘Lana’ who is the Renal transplant coordinator. She has worked with us every step of the way, showing compassion and support. We are forever Erlanger fans and I would choose them again and again for a true emergency. I would have had to bury my son had it not been for the excellent care he received at Erlanger Baroness. We have an outpatient transplant workup appointment tomorrow and I know that everyone will be wonderful, just as they always are!

I hope I never come back here. Spent a week in a room after surgery. Half of the nurses were subpar, and dietary was mediocre. My surgeon did a good job though. However the nurses, I was only cared for, directly, about 30 minutes each day. The call box they supply patients with does little, but crying out into the hallway for help does. I hope I never go back there, for the love of God.

A family member fell and was taken to Erlanger by Ambulance. We followed in an Uber to make sure he was going to be okay. Went into the ER. Ambulance made it to the hospital and ambulance driver came in and asked us questions about the situation. Age, address, etc. We gave all the information and asked what we do from here. He stated to please wait in the waiting room in case the Erlanger Emergency Room had any questions. So at that point we did, with a lot of people in the waiting room that were not there to be seen. It seemed many people were there that had a mental illness and were not actually being seen by the hospital. So we waited as told. A hospital staff worker came up (named Sam) walked up and very aggressively told us that we could not be there and to leave. Now understanding that we were just told to stay and our friend was being discharged according to Hamilton County EMS. Then when I walked over to the patient services station to ask if our friend would be released, he said they had no patient by that name and if I was going to be aggressive, I needed to leave now and he “didn’t have time for me”. At that moment another hospital worker walked up and asked me the name. I gave her the name and she said that she didn’t think he would be released any time soon, however we could call any time if we had questions about our friends condition. I said, “thank you for treating me like a human being”. I highly recommend that this is not the place for you if you are in an emergency situation and I highly recommend you not have any interaction with a “patient services provider” named Sam. Which is sad, because I gave two years of my younger years volunteering for this hospital when I was personally pre-med in the Children’s ER and then in that very adult ER that I was just talked down to like a dog. Go to Memorial Hospital!!!

Any hospital stay is concerning. These sunset views from the seventh floor west wing stairwell looking beyond the powerful architectural presence of the Children’s Kennedy Outpatient Center towards Raccoon Mountain and Lookout Mountain offered consolation and reflections of respect for the bravery of patients experiences here and the diligent care provided by each of the nurses and doctors and surgical services staff. Cleaning staff, food services, and information desk workers were pleasant and helpful. Our difficult situation was made easy as could be by the service and care provided by the caring people who work at Erlanger Hospital. Sweet treat to find our parking ticket paid and validated by the information desk staff when we exited after a 4 night stay. Starbucks is closed on the weekends but the cafeteria offers Starbucks coffees from their self-serve counter. Surprised to find a variety of fresh sushi offered in the cafeteria. Tempted to try it but I refrained. Cafeteria closed at 8pm. FYI their Chick-Fil-A closed at 4pm so double check food provisions hours for your stay if you’re interested.

If you know what they had done and their not in intensive care you can call their room
I do not know the Doctor that treated her but when I worked there I only trusted a handful of the doctors. Unfortunately, Erlanger is not a clean or well functioning hospital. The operating rooms are suppose to be terminally cleaned every night from top to bottom but they never are. They only had 1 cleaner for 22 ORs. I have came into some pretty dirty ORs that they were putting a patient in and I'd have to clean up blood and other fluids from where they were not cleaned. Definitely not a sterile environment like they are suppose to be. It is very scary. I had to resign my position after all I had seen in a year there. I just couldn't handle being a part of a place that didn't care about patient's safety or well being.
The parking garage is a $2 fee but depending on where you are going in the hospital or if you are handicapped you could possible get your ticket validated and fee waived
I called Erlanger downtown and the lady was rude, said she thinks they're contact docs in the er, to call my provider, then swiftly hung up on me
I know what you mean about this situation some people don't have any respect for anyone who is in the waiting room to see there loved one's I have been through it alot myself God bless you and your family members
They are very open. If you are immediate family they will let you in. I was there 12 days and my wife came when she wanted.
Hire a lawyer.
I think it is free if a doctor has requested for them
