This is one of the best hospital in PA. My dadβs life was saved here. Everyone from this institution from doctors to parking garage personnel are respectful, helpful, and kind. We had the best experience here every time I bring my dad in for any service. Five stars is not enough to rate how great this place is. Big βTHANK YOUβ to all healthcare staffs for everything that you do!!

Back in March of 2021 I had Open Heart Surgery consisting of a 7 Hr. Procedure to replace my bad Aortic Valve and 3" section of Ascending Aorta. Am not sure if I wrote a review since then...BUT...HERE IT GOES! I grew up about 15 mins up the river from this Hospital but for last 38 yrs have been living about 2 hrs away in Schuylkill CO, PA. I had a Choice of a few Hospitals but after visiting Dr Bavaria / Staff and Facilities the 1st time (which was actually the 2nd Hospital / Surgeon I consulted with) I knew I HAD TO LOOK NO MORE! Just as my Cardiologist stated a yr earlier "He is THE BEST IN HE WORLD" I soon started to see why? Instead of a 1 person (Surgeon) Consultaion consisting of only .5 Hr at my Local Hospital...You get TRIPLE TEAMED by (1st) Nurse Practitioner, (2nd) Fellow Assistant Surgeon...AND...(3rd) Dr Bavaria! After the ONE AND A HALF HOUR Consultation...they really give a feeling of "WE GOT YOUR BACK" Confidence!!! THEY'RE THE BOMB!!! (THANKS GUYS/GALS) Just as a few others have stated above...it starts with the Friendly Courteous Guard Staff outside around the Hospital, Everywhere else inside / around...right up to your Doctor's Office...That all familiar feeling of "THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE" (which somehow surprisingly through the decades has not lost that FEEL!) Contrary to what I've seen 1 or 2 other reviews say...This place is WELL ORGANIZED starting with my Phone Calls (from 2 hrs away), on through every Vist, Testing, through Surgery/Recovery...and on up to my 2nd and last Follow Up Visit!!! This Institution also follows a STRICT CLEANLINESS Routine! My Surgery was a HUGE SUCCESS making me feel Better than before...AND...as I said to the Nurse Practioner at my Last Visit..."I will continue to go to my Local Doctors...BUT...If I have to go to the Hospital for something Half Way Serious... IT'LL BE DOWN THERE AT U. of P.

Doctors and nurses are very good

10pm weekday 9pm weekend
24 hours, enter through emergency unit after 11 pm
Yes, perlman and the far garage on the left off Civic center Blvd.
Yes, there is a fee. I think the max stay is $20.
Yes
Yes
Yes, plus they are ranked in the top ten hospitals in the country
There is a bus (Route 42) from University City Station (Regional Rail), but the hospital is so close that it's better to walk the 2 blocks. From 30th Street Station, there are at least two buses (SEPTA's LUCY and Route 30). From the Market-Frankford Line's 34th Street Station, the Route 42 bus will connect you, although it is a short walk with traffic along 34th Street if you can make it. Another bus (Route 40) connects the hospital from the Broad Street Subway's Lombard-South Station. (Take it westbound.)
9am to 8pm, visitors must show proof of Covid-19 vaccination or present documentation of a negative Covid-19 test within the past 72 hours
All. They are one of the top cancer hospitals in the country
Under the Pearlman center it is open 24-7 then you just walk over the bridge to the main hospital.
You need to check with your insurance company
Yes there is a pharmacy on 1st floor in Ravdin lobby. And in the Pearlman building across the street on the 1st floor lobby also.
It's up the street at Presbyterian medical center but it's HUP
More than I expected really clean and friendly hospital.
We definitely have some magnets around here somewhere. I'd try radiology?
About 3 blocks
Yes
No
On line.
Yes
Walk through the Dulles building. From the front door your going to go right and go to the second hallway make a left and walk all the way down and the founders elevators will be on your left with a large sign with an arrow point to them.
No
Yes there are Metters
You can get your ticket validated
Pearlman center for advance medicine. You can Google phone number or go to penn medicine web site.
Yes. Certain hours
I believe there is.
Yes
Well as far as i know, here in America you can not be turned away if you need medical care
It depends on what you are there for and where you park. Prices are hourly at PCAM, Perelman Center and are open 24 hours/7 days. 3600 lot is cheapest $5, but not 24/7. https://www.pennmedicine.org/for-patients-and-visitors/penn-medicine-locations/perelman-center-for-advanced-medicine/patient-and-visitor-information/directions-and-parking/parking
Not on the main campus but they do have options off campus.
Either use the valet or the self parking at 3600 building. Its teo blocks away but its the hospitals lot and they run a shuttle over. Its the least crowded of all the lots.
It depends on how long you are here. I believe max is $24. Patient parking is in the 3600 building. There is a shuttle over to the main hospital and Pearlman center. That is in $5 for patients. You could also park under Pearlman center for $11 if you are going there
It depends on circumstances
3400 spruce street
Park under pearlman or use the valet at the main door on 34th and spruce
Yes
It depends on what dr you are seeing.
Yes
You can take train or bus. They also have shuttle service
At 6a.m.
Center of the main building. Come in at 34th and spruce
No. You have to park under the Pearlman center
Tell the nurse manager or the unit secretary on that floor if that doesn't work then go to guest relations
Only if it has paper for being a therapy or companion animal.
They mail it ours took about a month
Are there patients there
Depends on what floor theyβre on I think. My husband has stayed here for weeks at a time and it was never an issue for me to stay with him or to come & go at all hours of the day and night.
Contact your doctor or coordinator, or records department.
While I was there it was 24/7. Just check with the nurses station.
Call the main # and they will transfer you to the room or the floor nurses station.
Yes
Not 100%, but I would recommend the GI department. I have personal experience with them and I have nothing but high praises for the. Very personable and extremely great at what they do. They saved my life. I wouldn't be here today if not for all the doctors and team's at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Look up SEPTA ...also it's fairly cheap with Uber. It's not that far of a walk depending on your health.
Yes
Thank . Very helpful
Not that I know of
All I can say University of Pennsylvania is the best you may want to go there... Top 10 in the ..Nation number 1 in this whole Region... I'm just a Kidney Transplant Patient my self...π I didn't work there
Registered at New-York hospital for kidney transplant. Can I be listed at HUP ? How do I handle it ?
Sorry I don't know what the step down unit is.. Call and see... Sorry
Call and ask to be connected to the Cardiac floor
So I'm at the hospital now. The cost is up to 3hrs $10 for patients/family and $15 for non patient. 3-7 hrs $13 for patient/family and $19 for non patients. Lastly 7-24hrs $14 for patient/family and $21 for non patient. Hope this helps
It's a part of the hospital. If you enter via their main non-emergency entrance, staff and signage will point you clearly in the right direction.
You can disaccept them upfront. If you do not ask the doctor before or while they are being prescribed, and if you voluntatily purchase the drugs after they are filled at a pharmacy, then I sincerely doubt you can do anything.
Most likely, but it would be best to call the department you need to see directly and ask.
This sounds like a question for your employer's Human Resources department.
All the way in the far end of the hospital.
These are great questions for a doctor.
There is a whole list of insurances that they do and do not accept. The best way to get the information you need is to call the department you are interested in scheduling with and they will be able to go over that list with you.
I would try another doctor before I tried Google Maps. I would also hold a conversation with your doctor so that you are able to understand the nature and pathology of your condition(s).
I don't know. Maybe call their payroll department?
Call their main number (as displayed on Google Maps). The operator will be able to forward your call to their records office or provide you with their number.
Yes there is. There's a few parking lots on the premises. Very reasonable pricing
You might also need a medical doctor. This might be a great place to find one!
Yes. Sheraton University City on 36th and Chestnut. Not super close but a good walking distance.
