We used STG for the adoption of our children. It was easy to trust their team from the get-go. They were communicative and worked efficiently. Sharon represented us, and we knew we were in good hands.

Walking away with minor kids from 17 years of marriage having Asian background was tough. But Sharon helped me to navigate the legal system of divorce process objectively without any emotional baggage. Her calm and empathetic demeanor enabled me to stay calm in midst of difficult times. She provided insight regarding finance of the process. Working with Sharon helped me to see the deep level of professionalism, unbiased judgement and respect to individual in all her communications. I am thankful for Holly for helping in all the documentation and email communications. I would definitely recommend STG divorce law firm.

I highly recommend putting this firm at the top of your list . I was referred by two separate friends/acquaintances to the same firm. Laura was extremely welcoming for consultation and knowledgeable. It is important to select someone who will represent me and have my best interest in mind. That is exactly what I received from the first phone call!

Yes we do! We represent divorce and family law clients in Will, Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kane, and Kendall Counties. Thank you for your question!
Yes, you may bring a friend or family member along for your consultation. We generally advise against it for confidentiality reasons, but we do allow it. Technically, if a third person attends the consultation, a court might consider that a waiver of the attorney-client privilege which normally assures total confidentiality related to the things you tell an attorney in a consultation.
It is useful, but not required, for a divorce or paternity consultation to bring proof of your income, and the other party’s income (tax returns for the last few years, pay stubs), as well as proof of your assets (account statements for bank and retirement accounts, a mortgage statement) and debts (car loan statement, credit card statements), and any prenuptial or postnuptial agreement if you are a potential divorce client. Our client specialist can discuss this with you in your initial phone call with our office.
The initial call with our client specialist is free, and in that call we discuss with you the facts of your case, your location, and get a good idea of whether our firm might be able to help you. We do charge a reduced fee for our attorney consultations. Depending on your circumstances, you may have a brief phone call with an attorney to discuss your circumstances to see whether it is worth your time and money to meet with one of our attorneys. If you are referred to STG Divorce Law from one of our business partners, we waive the consultation fee.
We have offices in Naperville, close to the I-88 and Naperville Road on-ramp and the intersection of Diehl Road and Naperville Road. We have an office in the Chicago Loop right across the street from Daley Plaza. We also have a location in downtown St. Charles on Illinois Street. We also can meet in many locations in the Chicagoland area on request. In addition, we can do telephone consultations and video conferences if that is your preference. We prefer to meet in person, but we understand our clients' busy schedules may not allow for the time to travel to meet our attorneys. We want to adapt to our clients' needs wherever possible.
