No one returned my call, and when i finally got through to someone he couldn't pass me off fast enough. Came off like since they didn't get me my rating they had no interest in helping me.

Jillian was awesome throughout the entire VA claims process. I initially went there because of the way I was treated by the VA rep (Harold) on post. Jillian let me know what gaps there were in my claim and gave me a plan to fix them. She kept in contact with me and helped me get what I am entitled to. Seriously go here instead of post if you want what you deserve.

Where do I start.. I can't say enough great things about this organization and its leadership. I have not experience this level of care or compassion and anywhere else. Thank you all at the Gurnee V.A.C for your service!

Hi Wilbert, for financial assistance we have a packet we can provide that will help you gather all the needed documents and information for us to determine eligibility. You can contact our office and request the Financial Assistance Packet.

Are they able to certify a DD-214 so I can get a Veteran's designation on my driver's license?

Levi Horvath | Oct 11, 2020
Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County | Oct 11, 2021

Hi Levi, There's been a recent law change with regards to Veteran's designation on driver's licenses. Now, you don't need to certify/stamp your DD214 with another agency. You can just take your DD214 with you to the DMV and get "Veteran" added to your license. Hope that answers your question!

Hi Mark, What sort of training programs are you looking for? Our office doesn't have specific training programs but we may be able to assist in getting resources, and/or applying for the VA's Vocation Readiness Employment Program.
