Omg!! Amazing facility!! The staff here are so nice. I have taken about five lessons and have had so much fun!! One thing that struggles me is Ellen pushing me. Which I respect a lot like get this they push you to get better if your child or you don’t like this facility go somewhere else. It’s not that hard. Ellen won a bunch of medals to do this. She is a true rider. Don’t like it think it’s a bad place move. Go somewhere else. I’m rating this at 10 years old and I already know how to canter I work hard. I did riding at another place where I used to live. I sorta knew how to trot but wasn’t that good I took lessons with Alexis and now I work with Katia and Summer. Great facility love the horses. My fav is Lucky. This horse is an angel he is amazing wish he was mine!!

I learned lots of things here, but mainly what not to do. At first it was perfect but after 3ish months I began to realize what was going on. They make jumping big critical, when riders should have a understanding of what they are doing before moving up in height. Many of the horses were a bit too thin and living in feet of mud, lots of lesson horses were too old to be doing the level of riding demanded from them. Horses should not be jumping 3ft+ More then 3-4 times a week (max) and some lessons horses are doing this 3 times a day. Many of the horses seem to be depressed in my opinion. Besides the questionable treatment of the horses, some people are not treated amazingly. I am a timid rider at times yes, but I would be yelled at by multiple people and even had a trainer throw dirt clumps at me and the horse to go faster. Some riding environments are more layed back or faster paced but I do not see this as a excuse. I’ve had someone tell me there horse went in for training for a week. The horse went in fine with whips being rubbed all over her but then came back terrified if they were near her. It’s been a few years since I was there, but felt the need to share. I hope they have started to focus on ethical care of there horses and teaching riders the concepts of jumping and making sure they have the everything down to a T before moving up.

I have been taking lessons, boarding and showing with Ellen for the past year and a half. I love this facility and working with Ellen. I have grown so much as a rider and have had the joy of being paired with an amazing horse that Ellen owned - my horse is a joy to own and ride, I am thankful for Ellen helping pair me up! I am thankful to the staff for taking great care of her and helping me keep her ridden and in shape since I am not able to make it to the barn as often as I would like due to my busy work schedule We have a great barn community! Ellen goes to extreme measures to make sure all the kids and adults can participate in this sport, regardless of budget. She teaches the students so much not just about riding, but about discipline and having a strong and consistent work ethic - lessons that extend well beyond their riding and into anything they endeavor to do in life. If you're looking for a barn where you can grow from the very beginning to high levels in the eventing world, (Ellen competes at the highest levels of our sport after all!) and that has a fun, low-key community - RHEC is the place to be!

I love this barn. I’ve been through 3 already in the DFW area and I’ve finally found someplace where I can stay! I’ve been a weekly student for a few months now and the owner, Ellen, is amazing! The barn is both organized and well run, she’s responsive in communications and I personally LOVE the text confirmations! I’ve ridden on/off my entire life, I showed and even taught for a bit and I was looking for a barn where I’d feel comfortable as an older adult returning to the sport I love. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. Katyia is my instructor and she’s a great match for me as a student. I’m so happy to be a part of the RHEC family!!
