By far the worst inpatient ive stayed at, I am 14 and i have severe trauma from the time i stayed at rockford, the staff members are not kind and they do not try to verbally deescalate they just inject you with medication which just makes you sleep. After sleeping so much, you learn the unhealthy habit of using sleep to avoid life. They have terrible food and very dirty facility. I would definitely not recommend rockford for you or your child. I hope you find the help you need!

Not the place to get mental help. No therapist. They only have about 2 group therapy throughout the day (it does provided some benefit). It’s only good if you are needing help adjusting your medication and supervision or for recovering from drug addiction. The facility is dirty. The psychiatrist was rude and not listening to what I was saying. They have stopped activities due to Covid which is understandable but did not provided replacement programs in the unit. It pretty much is a glorified daycare/kindergarten class. You sit and color, read, or watch tv. They don’t have a quiet area and it’s just always loud and over stimulating. They do not remove people who are trying to fight and potential triggering other patients. Even though your there voluntarily, the do not let you leave even if you put a 72 hour request. The list goes on. Shout out to the RN’s and RS’s though. The were super sweet and very understanding. They helped me so much and advocated for me to the psychiatrist. The psychiatrist was rude, harsh, and cold. Seeing her only last for maybe a minute, 2 if I was lucky.

Thank you to the staff at the outpatient orchard center. I got a lot of help from the program and positive feedback. I learned and refreshed my coping skills and was able to feel productive.

Please explain
We sat in the lobby for hours and were the only ones there on Christmas day. Come to find out a woman named Megan was the admitting person was waiting for the next guy to come in an hour and a half later so she wouldn't have to do it. My son now has coronavirus and athletes feet from this place. He's missing clothes and isn't much better. It's a horrible, disgusting place with abusive male nurses who are on a power trip and try to intimate young people who need help. Nobody has returned my phone calls about our experience, or reimburse us for the $220 of clothes he's missing from there !
Yes there is. Today I signed my son out of there ama with the state police by my side and we went to Christiana where a forensic nurse and Dr had to take pictures of my son's body and interview him about the events that took place. His entire upper body is covered with bruises from a male staff member assulting him. He is 11 years old!!! They tried to down play it and blow me off. I refused to leave without my son and now he is home safe where he belongs. Desmond is lying
Tuesdays and saturday...afternoons...i remember Saturday visit sat 5pm
They might..... sometimes they will take you and apply for Medicaid while you're in there.
depends on which unit their on

Rockford Center is a Hospital so it has all of the services you mentioned EXCEPT the following: Computers TVs Jobs Outdoor activities
when i first got admitted i was not officially diagnosed with PTSD. they asked the same questions that my therapist did after i got discharged and i got diagnosed with PTSD.
You do not need to be direct family to contact a person. If the patient is an adult you need their first and last name and ID number. If you dont have the ID number (and staff will tell you that they cannot confirm or deny if the person is there) ask them to take a message and pass it along "if they are". The staff will tell the patient you called but they need to give you the ID number. If they are a minor, you need the name and ID number, and whoever signed the minor in must have you on their list of approved people to talk to. If you are not on the list (but have the ID number) the staff can confirm with the guardian/parent if you are able to talk to the patient. IF you still want to mail a letter, send it to: PATIENT NAME c/o The Rockford Center 100 Rockford Drive Newark, DE 19711
Follow up to previous answer: you do not need to be a direct family member to speak to an adult patient. To speak to a patient you need their first and last name and ID# (5 digit number which you will be asked for by both the receptionist and the unit staff). If the patient is a minor, their guardian/parent must approve of the contact before the patient can be put on the phone with you. Hope this helps!
If the child is at risk for harming themselves or others, the police or an ambulance must take them to the ER and have them 302. From there they will be transported to a mental health facility. If it's an adult the police or ambulance must take them to the hospital. If mental health is an issue they can be committed without their consent.
Men and women are treated and sleep on the same units. Men and women DO NOT EVER share rooms, and when possible are roomed on opposite sides of the units, separated by a staffed nursing station. Staff are trained to use Traume informed Care strategies, and are constantly, actively monitoring hallways ensuring safety of the patients.
No......everyone is together.
I don’t believe so but, Dover behavioral health does. (If I remember correctly)
You can always take her for an evaluation
