The positive: I went to Alterations by Toni for 2 bridesmaid style dresses in early 2021, one of which I wore for my small legal wedding ceremony that spring. I thought they did a nice job and was generally happy with how things turned out. I have recommended other people to this shop based on this experience. The negative: I called in early December 2021 to schedule fittings for my wedding dress, which is for the big wedding event we had to push off for a year due to COVID. I was told at that time that I was much too early and that the books hadn't been opened yet for July 2022. I was told to call back in January, which was not an issue. So I called back early January and was told that again, that I was too early and I should call back in March, maybe late February. The person sounded irritated that I would be calling, which I found off-putting at the time. So I called yet again a month later, beginning of February, thinking that it wouldn't hurt to try a little earlier than the lady advised since knowing they were popular. I was shocked to be informed that they were totally booked for and unable to schedule me. This is so frustrating since I had been calling once a month and was told an even later date to check back on. I would feel better about it if they had been apologetic or suggested another place to look at, but unfortunately this was not the case. They told me to check with bridal shops, and yes, bridal shops can and do make recommendations, but this added to the overall feeling that Toni's just didn't care. I understand that things are busy and it's possibly that people were lucky enough to call right as the books reopened at an earlier than anticipated date. However, I can't help, but be really disappointed. I almost never write reviews, however customer service really seemed to be lacking in this situation, especially since I did not procrastinate and followed their instructions. Plus, as stated in the initial part of the review, I've done business with them in the past year and even recommended them to others, which I'm not sure that I would any longer based on this experience. I hope other brides have better luck and I wish I could have given a completely positive review.

How much is a hem on a multilayer wedding dress and how much would it be to make sleeves for me

Tannah Menz | Oct 10, 2020
Alterations By Toni | Oct 10, 2020

Hello Tannah, thank you for contacting us. An estimate for your wedding gown hem is between $250 and $400. A more definite cost would come after we are able to see the gown. Unfortunately, though, we are no longer able to create sleeves due to a recent lack of resources.

I have a swimsuit that is a little bit too low in the chest for me. Is it possible to fix that?

Hi Cindy...probably be better off taking it to a shoe repair place...they have heavier duty machines that handle leather easily.
