The only service I can speak to is my massage experience which unfortunately was lousy. The therapist was inexperienced and ineffective. It was an exceedingly hot day when I was there for my massage and the masseuse had me lie down on a heating blanket! I asked her to turn that off, of course but little things like that and the fact that I had to keep asking her to adjust her pressure on my body kept me from enjoying the experience at all. Also the massage room had the distinct smell of mold to it which is not what you want to smell anytime but certainly not when you are receiving a message. Per 501 Salon's request I filled out their survey since they claim to want always to improve but I received no reply regarding my unsatisfactory experience at their business. I came away the opposite of relaxed feeling more like the $120 spent for the massage plus tip was an expensive waste. Needless to say we will not ever be returning to 501 Salon & "spa" for any of their services. UPDATE: I followed up with a phone call to discuss my experience after the owner posted a reply here on google saying they'd 'love the opportunity to make this right.' Needless to say, I never received a call back.

Overall I have a good experience, but not a great experience. The hairstylist was very professional and courteous, but the haircut provided was not the one expected. I showed her several pictures of a medium haircut with short layers, and she cut it as a Medium haircut with long layers, which looked worst today, 24 hours after the haircut. In addition to this, I was surprised to receive a brief foot massage as part of the facial services. I did not feel comfortable with the tech touching my face, my feet, and my face again. I think she should have given me the option between a feet massage or a hand massage.

This salon was recommended to me by a friend who had a good experience, so not to say this will be everyone’s experience but my hair was destroyed at my appointment. I hate leaving bad reviews but even almost a year later I haven’t been able to get my hair dyed again yet because of the breakage. I went and paid more and waited months for the curly hair specialist because I really was focused on keeping my length which took me years and years to grow out. I went blonde and my hair was so over processed that within a month the front of my bangs barely passed my forehead and I lost many inches of hair from breakage. Now almost a year, a lot of expensive treatments and olaplex later, my hair is the shortest it’s been in 5 years as a result of the breakage that is still happening. I felt nervous leaving at this appointment because of how thin it looked and it only got worse from there. I waited so long to leave this review because I never planned on leaving one at all, but after having a consultation with a new stylist to try and save my hair they opened my eyes to how wrong this was. I’ve been so insecure about my dry broken hair, I’ve been buying extensions, protective hair wraps, and wrap in ponytails to try and hide it all because I trusted this stylist and was heart breakingly let down. I will never allow anyone to touch my hair with bleach again and I don’t recommend this salon to anyone with curly/ thin or textured hair that can’t take some damage. If I could stop myself from ever going there I would!!!
